wifi question

I still have an old good Dinc with unlimited verizon internet
& listen to different stations on TuneIn radio. Here is the question, in the car I use 3G
radio streaming but when I got home, my Dinc catches my wifi home network & I continue listening to the radio but 3G symbol disappears from the upper screen of my Dinc. Does that mean that wifi turns off 3G and everything goes thru wifi now ( gmail, internet, radio, etc ) ? So, I will not overuse 5 GB " unlimited " cap ? Thanks !

That is correct. If you are connected to a wifi network you are not using 3g or 4g or any of the verizon network data. You can run as long as you want and not have to worry about a data cap as long as you are using wifi.

Edit: I have unlimited as well and have used more than 5 gigs in a month and have had no issues. Unlimited should mean unlimited unless I am missing some penalty they didn't tell me about.
