Wifi signal strength issues after lollipop upgrade

Hi, I have a Galaxy S4 and just recently upgraded to Lollipop. Immediately after the upgrade, I am having significant issues with WiFi signal strength. I need to be within 5 ft a router for my antenna to recognize/connect to a wifi router. This happens with both wifi routers in my home and routers outside my home. Once I move more than 5 ft away the connection drops and the router is listed at "not in range". Samsung and Verizon are of no help. The only advice was to factory reset the phone (which did not help). Pre-upgrade, I had no issues with Wifi connectivity. The timing of this issue makes me highly confident that this is not a hardware issue. Any ideas?
