WiFi Tablet - Can it be converted to 3G or 4G?

My kids of have the wifi only version of the Samsung Galaxy 2 10.1 tablet and we are wondering if there is a way to convert these to 3G or 4G or if they have to purchase new tablets to get that functionality?

Any input would help!

I suspect the WiFi only version has no cellular radio hardware installed.

Check with your cellular carrier. They probably offer a hotspot that will work with any wifi device.

Another option I didn't see here but worth mentioning is a MiFi portable hub you can purchase for 20-30 bucks.

It would be cheaper to purchase a tab for the service you want to use and sell the old one! Changing a wifi tab to a phone version would require adding the radio parts and changing the operating system to recognize the radio and allow you to make and receive calls! Lots of trouble!
