Well, this mysterious "infrastructure mode" is making tethering work like a dream!! The iPad linked with no problem whatsoever. Easy easy.

However, I still have no idea what this "infrastructure mode" is. Would someone (anyone) care to elaborate? Why does this method of tethering appear to be so bulletproof, whereas the other apps were spotty (to say the least?)

Infrastructure mode simply means your device is connected to your phone as if the phone was a wireless router, rather than connected to each other device on the network (ad-hoc mode).
