AT&T Galaxy S8 wifi to data, phone not switching S8+

Lets say your internet goes down in your home WIFI network. The phone should go right to mobile data. My S8+ does not switch, even if I use the smart switch stuff.
I have to turn off wifi completely on my phone to use mobile data.

It depends. Is your internet going down but wifi staying connected? If so it won't insta switch since it still sees the wifi network.

Well ya, I walk out to the driveway, the wifi is on the edge out there, I'm connected to wifi but too far for internet.
its 2017, LOL the phone should move me to mobile data if there is a problem with wifi...

Under smart network switch, try turning on more aggressive switching. It should make it swap faster when wifi is weak.

I hear what you're saying but if it did this, then people would be complaining about how the phone was using data while they were connected to WiFi.
