Will anyone dare use the 6P without a case?

To be honest I love my Google Case but the fact that I have to fight super hard with it to get it off sucks (I go into smokey pool halls for pool league and don't want it to stink). I wonder if this is how all cases are.

I can assure you that all cases are not the same. In the last 3 years I've owned close to 100 cases. Some come off in a heartbeat, and others require some patience and a bit of cursing at it.

But anyway, what really amuses me are the people that would rather break their phone than have a case. Yes, people have said that even if they knew they were going to have an accident, they would still go naked. I don't understand such a cavalier attitude.

I've had my phone for about 2 months now. I've had all the Nexus devices and they've all had cases. Never a phone dent or screen injury. For this phone, I loved the style so much that all I got was a dbrand skin, and I love the look. Well, I got out of my car this AM and the phone slipped out of my pocket.

Crack. Two big fragments of glass. The phone is still functional, but the skin is torn on the corners and the nice metal is dented.

I've ordered a case.

I'm not depressed enough to buy a replacement, and since the screen cracks don't limit use or visibility, I'll keep using this one.

Didn't buy the protection plan. Since I usually get a nexus device every year, I've never felt protection plans are worth it.

Didn't expect this, but I guess that's what insurance is for.

Big bummer today.

That really stinks. But I don't feel sorry for people that refuse to get a case, then damage their phone. (I realize you're not looking for anyone to feel sorry for you)

I'm so OCD about my phone that I'd have to admit myself to a mental asylum if I ever damaged it. Therefore, a case is a must and a glass screen protector also.

A girl at work just did the same thing as you. (brand new phone) Cracked her screen, and now wants to get a case. <facepalm>

I found one that isn't so bad. I only take it off for one reason... I go to a pool hall every Monday night for league and the case would smell like an ash tray if I left it on.. So I take it off for that night only. Otherwise I keep it on.

To each their own, as they say. But most of the cheap cases are ez to take off.

I've actually decided to try my phone without a case, for now. I'm enjoying it so far. I find my White 6P has enough grip and I mostly like how think it is with no case. Though how thin it is does give me a bit of anxiety, worrying what might happen if I accidentally drop it.

Stay strong ... I've been rocking mine naked since November. Occasionally I'll slap a case on for certain events ... Kids birthday parties and semi annual hiking trips. Outside of that ... No case.

Mine just dropped flat on the screen side. The metal on the edge of the screen dents really easily. Back to a case...

If you live in the US I don't think there is any way to get the screen replaced even if you are willing to pay for it. Apparently Huawei isn't doing non warranty repairs. Until someone starts offering screen repairs I think a case is prudent unless you feel pretty good about your chances of replacing it yourself. Looks very tricky to do.

No case. Phone is already too big and don't want to hide the pretty frost white back.

This will be the first phone that I go commando...except for a Snugg Leather Pouch I am ordering. I have cracked 2 screens since my first smartphone...the OG Droid...and both had cases on them when they cracked. The ONLY case that has ever prevented me cracking a screen has been the Otterbox Defender and Since they don't have them yet for the Nexus 6P I feel a leather sleeve will do just fine. Not perfect but at least my beautiful gold Nexus 6P will NOT be covered up while I use it. I did get Squaretrade policy for it though.

I tried it for a day, got home and notice dirt around the edge on the back of the camera glass.

No case still. Been using naked since November. Dropped numerous times.... Slight crack on the bottom right corner.... Few scuffs. It's overall a pretty durable phone.....so far

6P

I'm only rocking a case because I didn't get the graphite Nexus I wanted. I couldn't wait, so I bought the aluminum. Put a graphite colored Spigen over it so I'd stop feeling sorry for myself lol

Doesn't help you if you didn't buy it when you bought the phone. Notice I said "non warranty" repairs.

gotcha, just saying NP is the only option (that I'm aware of) so it's probably a smart idea to just shell out the $89 at the time of purchase, so if something does Haugen, you'll have the peace of mind if being covered.

Only comes out to $3.70 month ... I'm not an insurance/warranty guy, but to me that's a no brainer.

Here's my take on it. I've usually used thin, clear cases on my phones, and I've never used screen protectors. For this phone I bought the Ringke Fusion Crystal case, which I had no issue with. The problem is that this device is larger than any other phone I've had and when I had it in the case, even a thin case, it was uncomfortable in my pocket. What I decided to do instead is to purchase a dBrand Skin and a screen protector. It's probably a little less safe than a case, but it definitely fits in my pocket a lot better. I still have the case, so I can always throw it on if I'm going to a concert or something.

I'm waiting for the crash guard bumper to finish production and ship. Mine is pre ordered. Watch the drop test videos on this bumper. Pretty incredible technology. Must use a case if you don't have nexus protect or some aftermarket protection as there is no way to get a screen replaced at this time.
