Will anyone dare use the 6P without a case?

@Almeuit: It pops out really easily if I hold the top corners of the case and push from under it. Much easier than many other cases I have tried.

@GreatCanadian: It grips well enough for me, but a softer plastic would grip better. Definitely a good improvement on case-less grip, but there are grippier cases out there. The black outline is softer and won't slide off furniture etc.

Thanks DaMaDo. A little grippier and won't slide off desk is exactly what I want. Thanks very much for your reply!!

I've had my phone for about 2 months now. I've had all the Nexus devices and they've all had cases. Never a phone dent or screen injury. For this phone, I loved the style so much that all I got was a dbrand skin, and I love the look. Well, I got out of my car this AM and the phone slipped out of my pocket.

Crack. Two big fragments of glass. The phone is still functional, but the skin is torn on the corners and the nice metal is dented.

I've ordered a case.

I'm not depressed enough to buy a replacement, and since the screen cracks don't limit use or visibility, I'll keep using this one.

Didn't buy the protection plan. Since I usually get a nexus device every year, I've never felt protection plans are worth it.

Didn't expect this, but I guess that's what insurance is for.

Big bummer today.

Thanks DaMaDo for getting back to me! :). I went ahead and ordered one.

Ohh no. Sorry to hear about your incident. If it were me, I'll by 2, use one without a case, and the other just open the box and power up to check everything is working. Then put it back on the box. That way I can use my naked one without that constant worry of damage. It is a very nice phone and it is nice to appreciate it without a case. But because I don't have 2 of them, mine is in a case for now.

I've been using the Ringke Fusion Crystal case, but I decided to order a dBrand skin and screen protector and go that route instead of using the case.

You're still coming out way ahead. Imagine the cost of all that insurance on phones you didn't end up needing it for plus the deductible....

Well, that's a good point.

That sinking feeling when it hit the ground. It was all in slow motion. Dang.

Just got mine and still in the 2 week trial period, but had the OEM Google case sent along with it. Good move as this is a slippery device. Beautiful but slippery none the less. The case is minimal and has a nice grip so much less chance of a drop. I'd never be able to go with nothing.

My Nexus 6P is the first phone I've dropped. Luckily it didn't cause damage, but it makes me leery of removing my Spigen Ultra Hybrid clear case now.

(The phone was dropped a day before getting the case)

Damn that must've been a heart attack moment. How did it fall and how high and on what floor and where did the phone hit haha :P

It was in my hoodie pocket. I bumped into my cat's water bowl, it fell out about 4 feet, hit the bowl then landed on the tile floor face up. A tiny bit of water splashed on it as well, but luckily not near any openings.

.... Needless to say, this could have gone a heck of a lot worse! My heart probably skipped a beat or two when it happened!

Yeah that slow motion feeling is awful ... happened 3 days in on my Nexus 4. Since then I almost always use a case, no screen protector though.

And yeah, that's at least a positive spin in that you are indeed ahead of the game if you've never paid for insurance. There's a kiosk at my mall that replaces glass for pretty cheap. If it bothers you or gets worse maybe that can be an option.

I ended up getting the Adopted case as sold on the Google website. It's more rubbery than I expected, but it wraps around the phone. Has that "good grip" feel to it. Adds some weight, but I'm not entirely happy how the volume and power button are wrapped. I feel as though it results in an imprecise depression of those buttons.

I had a clear Spigen case. Hated how it made the device feel, I rather use the device raw and intended. I did buy a pouch to carry it in. But no cases on my devices anymore

I was changing between cases on mine and knocked mine off the desk onto the concrete floor. After I caught my breath I picked it up to see the big crack in the screen but no it was all good. It kinda scuffed the aluminum in the corners where it landed but all in all I was very shocked at how well it managed the fall. It was only about 3.5 feet up but still, concrete is concrete.

Damn lucky nothing major occurred. Definitely a heart attack moment. I haven't dropped it yet and I dread the moment although it has a Spigen case still a bit nervous
