will gingerbreak root the sk4g?

hi everyone, I jus got my sk4g tonight and have a few questions.

first off, will gingerbreak root the device as it does on many other 2.2 devices?

what are my choices as far as custom recovery and roms?

Id really like to have 2.3 or something like CM7.

last question is if there is any future for the sk4g as in official 2.3 update.

go to the XDA Developers Sidekick 4G forum. Lots of good Rooting 7 Rom-ing info there.

yes, head on over to XDA to see how to root. basically you can use SuperOneClick, and then there is a procedure to install ClockworkMod.

we don't yet have AOSP or CM7, but there are some nice variants of the stock Froyo ROM. I too hope we get official Gingerbread from Samsung pretty soon
