Will it work on AT&T LTE Network?

So in theory my iPhone 5 sim with at&t will work without a hitch. (need a nano to micro sim adapter but that SHOULD be it)

iPhones traditionally have different APNs and data plan for it. So, I have no idea if it will work. Most likely will.

If anyone gets bored try and enter the Nexus 5 IMEI into the website. I believe you need to act like you are creating a new line or making a new account for the pop up box to come.

So is it going to be difficult to impossible to activate a Nexus 5 as a new account with ATT?

No, you need something that AT&T can recognize. Otherwise, there should be no difference than just use your Nexus 5. Or just walk into an AT&T corporate store. They should be able to set you up quickly.

I'll know tomorrow whether this will work. Coming from an iPhone 5. Just hoping it's as simple as popping my nano sim in an adapter and putting it in the Nexus 5. Fingers crossed.

Same here, but I won't get to until 7-8 pm so please keep us updated!

Just spoke with AT&T. I have a contract plan and previously had a Nexus 4. I put my SIM in the Nexus 5. HSPA only, no LTE. Called AT&T. The agent on the phone said that because the Nexus 5 is not an AT&T phone that they have no method to allow it access to LTE. If anyone has luck getting it access to LTE, please post.

That is sad to hear. Sounds like you will need to find an existing LTE phone, write down the IMEI number and give them back a call and say you need LTE available on that phone.

Excuse my ignorance but did the nexus 4 have LTE? Will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow, maybe switching providers!

I dont think just telling them an IMEI of a phone will work. You have to actually insert the SIM into that phone so that they can detect the IMEI on their end. Maybe if you go into a store you will find a friendly rep that will let you insert your SIM into one of their phones and change your plan. Or do it on a display model on the sneak.. :)

This is one of those "shut up and take my money" type situations..

AT&T drama...

I'll be dropping my iPhone 5 sim (with adapter of course) into my nexus tomorrow/wednesday and be back with any updates. They may be losing me shortly if they can't help with something that is seemingly very simple.

Don't understand if att go phone advertises 4g lte and bring your device. But an AT&T rep says they can't activate because they don't recognize the IMEI. So confused.

Ill be doing the same tonight and will report. Though I did not take the SIM out of the iphone. I went to the store and got a new microsim and sold the iphone unopened.

As long as UPS delivers. It shows it arrived in my city last night. Scheduled delivery is today, but tracking does not indicate that it is out for delivery :/.
