Will my Android phone get updates if i move to another country?

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to move from India to UK soon for work. My current phone has bad battery life and has slowed down a lot. So I want to buy a new phone before I relocate.
My question is- will my new android phone bought in India get updates when I'm in the UK? Are these updates dependant on location or service provider?

If the phone is carrier-branded, it might have to be on that carrier's network to get official updates, but that isn't always the case. In general, unlocked (i.e., "carrier-agnostic") phones like Pixels will get updates no matter where they are in the world.
