I'm just hoping for it to appear on Verizon.
I'm just hoping that Google sells a CDMA/LTE Nexus with the proper frequencies for Verizon. But don't let Verizon touch it.

Uh, you need to remember Google has the final say on the Nexus phone. It's not Samsung's call, and if Samsung 'under bids' on purpose so not to top their own S3 device, then they know damn well Google will look towards HTC, Motorola or maybe Sony. Samsung has to bring their A game to the bidding war or they lose. The S3 is their flagship device. It's not that they don't want the GN to sell well, but (even if it is made by them), why would they intentionally give their flagship device competition? That's a dumb businesses move. Will they give it similar hardware? Sure. Better? Not a chance.

Due to the way CDMA tech works (versus GSM), I don't think they can do that, which is why the Verizon Nexus was not an AOSP phone for awhile (but that seems to be remedied for now).I'm just hoping that Google sells a CDMA/LTE Nexus with the proper frequencies for Verizon. For Google it's not about hardware it about software. They consider hardware only in terms how well it will work with there software which means the latest or future tech may not be the best option at time to work with software they are developing. Google like use trusted hardware they know which would explain the marginal improvement spec wise when a Nexus device comes out. I think everyone is to caught up on spec sheet forget forget about user performance. What I mean by user performance is the actual perception of how the device runs by the user and Google's Nexus phones always perform beautifully even with the marginal or non high end specs. Ultimately what I am saying is putting the latest or super smartphone tech does not necessarily mean a better nexus.I know the focus of the Nexus brand is more Android software than cutting edge hardware. Any chance this changes later this year and the Nexus phone/phones come with better hardware specs than the GS3?
The problem I see with this point is how much control does Google and manufacture have in making of Nexus device? We seen from the past several Nexus devices that Google controls what hardware will go in a device. The S3 is their flagship device. What the nexus is to Google is to deliver is most optimized android smartphone that serves as a blueprint for the android comunity to move forward. Google's partners may see the Nexus brand as tool to rival the iphone but Google see their Nexus line as a developer device for the consumer. Finally, if Samsung is chosen yet again, both Google and Sammy know that they have to compete against the iPhone 5. Do you really want to bring your B game when facing the iPhone 5? HELL NO! Google needs a super duper phone (or phones as the rumor goes) to keep the Android buzz going against iPhone. Anything less and Google has failed themselves.
Samsung screen + Motorola radios = Happy Monkey
I agree with ADR6425LVW.. Moving on slowly and gradually getting better..
Mind you, they better give it a decent camera this time. Seems like this was a major flaw in the latest model by all accounts.

This.
For the love of all that is sacred. Never understood the reason for the mediocre camera (or the screen for that matter) on the GNex.

"Okay this is more of a pipe dream than anything, but how awesome would it be if we got one super Nexus phone born from a collaborative effort by Samsung, Moto, Lg, Sony, and HTC rather than 5 different Nexus phones? Im talking a real beast of a phone with Samsung innards (Exynos), Moto radios, screen by Lg, cameras by Sony and all wrapped up in an HTC built shell. Im sure it would never happen but one can always dream"
