Will the Honor 8 receive emui 8?

Along with the Mate 10 announcement today, Huawei also mentioned that the Mate 9 and other handsets will start receiving emui 8 (Android O) shortly. Question is, do you think this includes the Honor 8? Earlier this year I would of said no question but now I'm not so sure. They seem to have forgotten about the honor 8, especially the US version.

Yeah, US got a security patch about a month ago. The problem is the US version has not sold as well as expected so a lot of people here in the states are worried they may forget about us with emui 8.

There is always the odd option that Honor 8 will get something like EMUI 7 that is the same sans the AI features. Sort of how it's now in 5.01 instead of 5.1.

I guess only time will tell. I'll gladly take whatever they end up calling the new os.

Hopefully it will! The Honor 8 has been out a little over a year, yes? I'm sure Honor would still honor (LOOL I had to) the 8 with regards to updates.

Well that's not true because the oreo emui on the mate 10 is going to be a version of emui5 according to some reviews

Honestly I have no clue about the reliability of their statements anymore, but Huawei support seems to claim so

Huawei originally claimed that the Honor 8 was going to be supported with major software updates for 2 years, and have quarterly minor updates during the first 12 months. Oreo and EMUI 8.0 will be within this window. Hope they keep their word. The Honor 8 is a great phone and a heck of a bargain.

Hi guys. Looking at the information I've seen Android version 8 (Oreo) will be released on Honour as EMUI 6.0 and is already its Beta form on the Honour 9. I also think it will make it to the Honour 8 early next year

It should receive it as it's less than 2 years old from launch and I'm sure the crack is that all phones have to have at least 2 years of support and updates from launch date?

They are testing it in house, I saw a comment from honor on one of their 7x instagram posts and they replied that they are testing all features to make sure it's all good before announcing for honor 8. Honor 9 beta will be coming soon, so it is probably going to be end of January again.
