Will the LG G3 get Android 5.0 Lollipop?

Yes, the ROM I'm running, CM12, is free of all the bloatware the carriers ship their phones with.
Why is memory usage so low? Is that coming out of a reboot? Hopefully call that wasted ram gets used after some usage?

My nexus 7 (WiFi version) already got the lollipop update! So you're nexus 7 should be getting it
soon.

I hope so, but in the meantime, you can get a lot of the material design google apk they're already out in the wild

I'm new so can't post links....

Was it fairly easy to rootwith cyanogen mod 12? Im a first time rooter but after reading up on how to root from XDA and putting mod 12 on im feeling a bit more confident.

Yeah, just follow directions to get bumped & TWRP. Installing CM12 is pretty straightforward. The main diff is having to flash SuperSU each time in addition to the ROM and Gapps.

I got mine too, and it's a disaster, slow, crashes, obvious conflicts somewhere, missing wallpaper. Be careful what you wish for.

Wow, surprised. CM12 is pretty stable on the G3.

You don't want it to use less RAM, I'm assuming you have the 3GB version. Any RAM that isn't being utilized for something is wasted.
Sorry bud but you do want it to use less RAM while it is idle. RAM does not draw power at a constant rate, it varies depending on the use of the RAM. If you are maxing your RAM out all day your RAM is going to be drawing max voltage resulting in your battery dying quicker and the internal temperature to be higher.

Very True! If the phone is using a lot of RAM then it is probably bloatware lurking in the background.

I rooted my G3 D850 with Stump, then installed Titanium Backup Pro (previously used it on another phone).
Then I proceeded to uninstall all the AT&T bloatware I could find via the Titanium app since I'm a Cricket user.
RAM consumption dropped considerably and battery life improved dramatically. It's amazing how much useless
"stuff" AT&T puts on the phone's ROM.
