will the nexus 6 shut off if overtemp FOR SURE?

I just looked at my CPU temp app and it said 89degC.... That's really f'ing hot. Is anyone sure whether or not it will shut itself down if it gets too hot?? And any idea what that temp is? I would have guessed something below 89 deg C!!?

89 degrees C is 192 degrees F.
You would not be able to hold the device at that temp.
I'd say the app is very incorrect.

It will not shut off but will throttle. 90c for electronics is not all that hot (in some cases). The new Intel CPUs and AMD graphics cards throttle at 90c.

The CPU temp is not external case temp. The CPU can be very hot while the back of phone not so much.
