Will the Nexus 6P work on Verizon?

Re: 6P for Verizon ?

Does Verizon still subsidize their phones?

Yes. If you are a current customer they will allow you to upgrade with subsidized prices through contract renewal. I've called their CS multiple times to confirm this.

Really? My 5x and 6p are working just fine on Verizon. I took my nanosim from my Galaxy S6 and put in each phone. I get data, calls, texts, VoLTE (voice/data same time), etc. Are u trying to activate new service?

Re: Nexus 6p Sim card question

i got it working. basically just took sim out and put it back in... no clue why that worked

Re: 6P for Verizon ?

Using the 6P right now on Verizon and flawless comes to mind.

Worked great for me as well. I had no problems moving the SIM from my Nexus 6 to the 6P. I also want to add that I never had issues back when the 6 was released last year moving the SIM from the 2013 Moto X to the 6. I didn't have any issues in Verizon's network.

Re: 6P for Verizon ?

I am a current Verizon customer but both the phones on my account have micro sims. I don't want to mess with cutting the micro down to a nano. What is my best bet to getting a nano sim activated? I have a couple corporate stores close to where I live that I hope will give me a nano sim without trouble. I can use a friends phone at work to activate it on as long as I can do it all on line or over the phone without having to bring it into the store. Any help?

It's really not a hassle. What is a hassle is going out of your way and spending your time getting a nano sim. It's SUPER EASY to trim it down. And unless you have a seizure in the process you're not going to mess it up. Take an exacto knife or other very sharp blade and start whittling like a stick. Takes all of 3 minutes.

Quick question. I thought I "heard" that if you take the VZW sim from one phone and put in your new phone, when you log onto their website and look at your Account, the new phone name (ie. "Nexus 6p") won't be the name of the phone on your line. I think I remember it shows a blank picture and 'unknown' or some name. Not a big deal of course..
And secondly, does VZW Visual Voicemail still work on your N6p? I think that was another thing that doesn't work on the new phone. I could be wrong, just was curious.

Thanks!

correct, it shows up as the "Huawei-H1511". Simiarly, my 5x shows up as LG-XXX (I can't remember the model number off the top of my head).

for Visual Voicemail, I haven't tried the 6p, but I did try the "Verizon Visual Voicemail for Nexus" app on the 5x and couldn't get it to go past the initialization screen.

Re: 6P for Verizon ?

Activated my phone last night.

Walked in, asked for a nano SIM for my 6P. Representative said it might not work but we will give it a try. Put the new SIM in the phone and it was able to register on the network. Verizon picks it up as HUA-H1511. Unlimited was not affected.

The only thing I had to sign was getting the free SIM.

Re: 6P for Verizon ?

No. You can pay full price or monthly payment no interest. Access fee is cheaper at 20.00 per line. No more contract.

Not exactly, I'm eligible to buy a subsidized phone on a two year contract, but I'd have to relinquish my UDP.

Re: 6P for Verizon ?

"Buddy upgrade" if you have spare line without UDP. I was able to get subsidized pricing for 2 phones and keep my UDP. UDP line will get my 6P whenever it shows up.
