Will the potential lack of a jack be a deal breaker?

I like sound quality and my previous experience with bluetooth is that it degrades sound quality. Seems to me bluetooth was originally made with just voice in mind and not the wide bandwidth and dynamics of music. Also, I use the aux jack in my truck. I would otherwise like the idea of using wireless headphones/buds if it wasn't for fear of degraded sound quality which I wonder why they don't just use wi-fi for lossless audio streaming instead of compressed bluetooth?

Funny some people mentioning too many cameras on the back. Let me ask you this, if one doesn't care about quality of the audio and cameras why are you even looking into such a flagship product to begin with? Isn't that the point of a flagship product to have the best of everything? I actually care mostly about the camera as I use my smartphones for taking pictures and filming. But lack of wired audio jack could be a deal breaker for me! Also don't like the idea of the built in speakers being degraded as mentioned above. A lot of emphasis is put into the displays looking as good and crisp as possible with the deepest blacks and contrast etc. but why does audio quality always seem to take a back seat? Everyone cut your ears off if audio isn't important!

Just leave the adapter connected to your headphones.

I think that plan works well for single people with one phone and one primary set of headphones, but in our house of 4 when we had a period of over a year where 2 had samsung notes and 2 had Moto Zs without headphone jacks, it was a nightmare trying to find the adapters all the time, especially since the cheap ones I would buy off Ebay would tend to break a lot. and those aren't easy to find to buy another when traveling.

I had a bluetooth set but I hated having to worry about yet another thing to keep charged, especially since the primary time I would use headphones is traveling. I told myself I would never buy another phone without a jack ever again.

For traveling I could see that. I found a $20 aux receiver at Walmart that can work with headphones, but it only has a 3.5 hour time limit. I plan to use it in my car and can charge in my car, so it works for me. Anything with a longer time limit is probably too expensive.

Nope! I live in NYC and take the train. Too many times my wire would get snagged by another person rushing off the train causing my headphones to come out or my phone would almost drop out of my hand.

To be honest, I use bluetooth probably 95% of the time - probably more. The times I don't use it are usually when I have to make a business call where I like to be able to trust the audio would not waiver and also I like being able to put the mic up to my mouth so I don't have to talk so loud so everyone hears my business. So, I will miss the headphone jack even though I don't use it as much. It won't be a dealbreaker for me, but I just hope that Samsung puts the space to good use and not just get rid of it as either a cost savings measure or just for the sake of it. If they actually do put the space to good use, then I will be bothered less. JerryRigEverything is going to tear it down so we'll see what takes it place if anything.

I have several bluetooth headsets and none of them permit me to pull the mic near my mouth.

Also, won't be able to use an app like NextRadio that uses the FM radio in the CPU but needs the plugged in headphones to act as the antenna. (Not that I used this that much, though.)

So if they can put the space to good use, I guess I'll be ok. If not, then I'll just be very disappointed.

Nah, I use an S10 now with the Galaxy Buds. I mean, it's nice to have the jack... kind of a security blanket. But certainly not a deal-breaker.

I'm probably firmly in the minority with this, but aesthetics are much more make-or-break for me with my tech than the lack of a headphone jack or microSD support. If the Note10 is as stunning as the S10 I'm probably going to get it.

This will be the first time I skipped a year since the 5 series. The Note 10 seems an absolute downgrade. The Plus is closer to the Note 9, but the hole punch and no 3.5 kills it for me.

I have no real interest in the Note 10 but I wouldn't let those 2 features kill any phone for me. Running an S10plus with the oval punch and Pixel 3XL with the mother of all notches and dongle adapter. I never even gave it a second thought going with either one.

I have been tittering between returning to the Note line or going with the LG V50. The cameras have kept me with the V series. Now that Samsung has added the wide angle to the Notes I am looking hard at it.
I DO use the headphone jack quite often so without one..... I may have to stay with LG. Yes, I can go cordless (and do have) but the corded headphones don't need to be charged. One less adaptor to carry.
Only time will tell what the N10 will really be.

Beauty of the Note 10 will be the ability to wirelessly charge the buds. So no need to carry an extra adapter for charging.

As an audiophile I am happy with my AK70 when I need high quality audio. Wireless buds will do on the go.

I love my s10 because of the wide angle. Only thing I miss is the spen. I could care less about the audio port. Looking forward to the Note 10 so I finally have a wide angle, ToF, massive screen and the SPen.

I use my headphone jack on my S9 when driving my wife's car. It doesn't have Bluetooth connectivity, so I use a 3.5mm audio cable to be able to listen to Spotify. This is the main thing I use it for. Otherwise I have moved over to Bluetooth entirely. My wife is constantly misplacing her dongle for her iPhone. I would only buy a smartphone without a jack if I absolutely had to.

They should have added a 4.4mm jack to replace the obsolete 3.5 imo...oh wait Sony owns that ;)
This just leaves room for true audiophile phones to come forward (LG).

no. the biggest for me is if they get rid of the expanded sd card. I'm ok with no headphone jack. I use Bluetooth headphones

Not for me. I haven't used wired headphones in ages. I much prefer the wireless.

LG is everything but dead in the mobile industry.

Really? My brother went from Samsung to lg (for some odd reason). So when my dad needed a new phone when his S3 died, he got an LG. He got the Stylo 4 (has a stylus, somewhat like a very basic Spen).
