Looking at the Network section on both the HTC website for the unlocked HTC 10 and on Verizon's website for the HTC 10 and it shows the same bands. I really hope tomorrow a switch gets turned on and the unlocked HTC 10 works on Verizon.
4. Network bands in regions may be different, depending on the mobile operator and your location. 4G LTE only available in select countries. Upload and download speeds also depend on the mobile provider.
The other problem is that the unlocked version is $699, and if you opt to pay over 24 months with VZW your cost is only $548. $151 is a big difference, bloat or not. Hmmm... tough call.

There are still working codes to get the unlocked version for $100 off, making it $599.
Well the [mod edit] heads at Verizon have done it again apparently! Users at XDA that have their Unlocked 10's and swapping in their activated sims is not working, and another user tried calling into Verizon to have the IMEI put into their system, which Verizon DID do, but after multiple reboots, and waiting 30 minutes now, nothing! I always knew it was just a small bit of hope that it would work, and Verizon wouldnt be complete [mod edit] about it more than anything I Guess. I will be canceling my order of the Unlocked and will have to wait and see when the Verizon model is S-Off and rooted, then make the decision when that time comes to hurry and pick one up, or wait for the HTC Nexi devices. [mod edit] you verizon! You are the scourge of the wireless community!
*The HTC 10 Unlocked is compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile networks.
You’ll be able to switch carriers at will with the HTC 10 unlocked edition.
Simply insert your AT&T or T-Mobile SIM to begin using your HTC 10.* Sprint compatibility requires separate hardware – HTC 10 customers switching to Sprint will need to purchase a compatible device.
*AT&T, T-Mobile, Metro PCS, Alaska Communications, Cricket, Walmart Family Mobile, Straight Talk and Net 10 customers can use an unlocked HTC 10 today.

The only reason I'm still dealing with them is unlimited data. It's just ridiculous what they are doing with all these devices.

Verizon didn't do anything to the unlocked HTC 10 though.
Main reason for me is coverage. Their network is miles ahead of every other netwok in coverage. After that, it's price. They are actually very price-competitive (at least for my plan with an employer discount of 20%). I pay $105 for three smart phones and 10GB data on their old "more everything" plan. On their new XL plan, I'd pay about $112 and get 18GB for three phones. Even Google Fi couldn't beat that (as we actually use about 5-8GB/mo.)
Oh, how I hate the phone bloat though, and the delayed updates.
Currently my daily driver is a Nokia Icon running Win10 Insider preview, so I get updates directly from Microsoft, which is awesome - VZW is out of the loop. Want to get a flagship Android phone too though.
I know - that's exactly right, nothing. All they had to do is click on the keyboardbut instead decided to block the phone that is fully compatible. Why? It was in conflict with their financial interest, since they decided to sell their own beaded version of the phone. That's why, you can use with no problems Nexus line and Moto XPE - for whatever reason, there was no interest for branding them on both ends.

Are you sure the US unlocked model has CDMA enabled?

Definitely can't say that, but that would only mean HTC was forced to do so.

This guy at neowin blog site said that Verizon is "legally obligated" to allow any phone with band 13 LTE enabled to work on their network. Here's his post:

Don't know where he got that info. I asked him to back it up. We'll see...
