Will this version of the Note be a true universal device?

Was your order, a new line added to your family shared plan?

No, my order was an upgrade of my gnex and it is a family share plan. I think Verizon is overloaded and as usual they do not know what they are doing. I will wait and see what comes in the mail. If it is not what I want I will send it back.

my order was an upgrade from a dumbphone line to the note 3 on a old family share plan.....i plan on switching it to my line after its activated, but they don't know that. it is a line we do actually use.

My order was a dummy phone upgrade and it listed an embedded SIM as well.

Apparently, at least some people who had ordered were asked whether they wanted an "international" or a regular version. One person reported that he said regular. I haven't heard about others. Is it possible that this mysterious international version equals to a non-removable SIM?

no, it asked if i was going to use phone internationally, i did not select the box. i ended up with the "embedded sim".

A truly devious maneuver would be for Verizon, by doing so, preventing moving the phone from the dummy to the smartphone line thus making retaining unlimited data impossible.

I also upgraded form a dumb phone to the GN3 and I have the embedded SIM on my order. I didn't see anything about international use, but then again I don't travel overseas much and the last time I used my phone outside the US was on cruise ships and I just used the cell service that was available, much cheaper than the $10 a minute for ship to shore calls.

doesn't seem like that would work, because even with an embedded sim you would still have to have a way to switch lines at some time in the life of the phone....it would just make switching the phone to another line a hassle....

Without a sim, switching would probably be similar to on cdma only devices currently.
