Will updating ROM mess up Cricket flash?

My HTC Hero is flashed to work on Cricket but the guy that flashed it put a really old version of the DamageControl ROM on there. I want to either update DamageControl or flash to another ROM but I'm afraid it will mess up the Cricket flash. Any insight? Thanks

I don't think just flashing a ROM will do anything.

Just don't flash a new radio or anything else.

Depends on how you flash ROM. So yes, it may mess up your cricket flash.
