Will we ever get Oreo?

Mobile Syrup says we will get Oreo on March.28th. on the Note 8.
I read that date somewhere in the last day or two as well. But, that's Samsung's anticipated release. Then, the carriers do their testing. Add a few more weeks to that.

I see how you are! You didn't send ME an Oreo for mine!! I far in your general direction... Lol

recently loaded the Oreo update listed in an earlier post. I am on Verizon. seems to run smoothly and battery life seems better. Verizon released Oreo yesterday for the S8 so I updated my wife's phone. noticed that Verizon removed Device Maintenance from settings. Interesting. Wish they would leave things alone. May not accept the Verizon update to the note when it comes out.
Installed with ODIN right over existing system then did the update via recovery as shown in the instructions. No problems yet.

It would be nice if, when the Note 8 does get Oreo, if we get some of the OS capabilities the S9+ has (ie., adjusting touch sensitivity). Here's to hoping.

"Will we ever get Oreo?"
Don't care, I've learned after all these years that I will wake up and use the phone the same as I always do.
Have yet to meet an "update" that was life changing.
When it arrives I will download and install and happily use my phone as I always do.
Then watch the cycle of "where's my update" start all over again.

It looks like the S8/8+ getting it as we speak. At least for T-mobile and Verizon.

Soon... Ladies and gentlemen... Soon...

I’m looking to purchase a Note 8 but have a couple of questions that I can’t seem to find answers.
1. Which Note 8 variant is more likely to get Oreo first, Verizon or the U.S. Unlocked model?
2. Which variant is more likely to consistently get the monthly security patches?

Most likely Verizon, since as far as my knowledge goes the unlocked usually gets the updates last.

Even though unlocked may get updates last, somehow I feel it will support updates longer than carrier versions as carrier will not be interested to update previous year models even if samsung releases updates for all.

I have the Verizon Note 8 and have had monthly security updates from the beginning. Verizon seems to be doing better with not being last to get updates rolled out. As long as I get security updates, I don’t worry too much about which version of Android I’m on. My phone runs amazing right now and does everything I need. Good luck with your decision.

Verizon. The S8/S8+ for both Verizon and T-Mobile are receiving it now. Also, Verizon's been pushing out monthly updates regularly.

Besides, Verizon phones are SIM unlocked, so the only downside is the so called, "bloatware." Which when all things considered, isn't really all that bad.

I'll take a little bloatware if in return I get regular updates and reliable service.
