Will you avoid a Moto Nexus?

Will you consider a Motorola Nexus?

I really hope VZW gets a nexus device or Motorola follows se lead with the bootloader unlock if I can have a bionic with an unlocked bootloader I'm cool but if they get neither ill just go to ios land or somewhere else. Android is great but most of my pleasure comes from the ability to hack it if I loose that android has no interest to me I would rather have webos and use patches than a locked bootloader

You could always get the TBolt or wait for an LG device, Bizz

Or get a Samsung phone. They have not shown any signs that they will lunch devices with locked boot loader.

Moto's are built well and have always been known for good reception, and I thought good reception usually meant better battery. Add to that a Vanilla Rom, giving faster response time, I would say you have the makings of a good phone.

I second that.

That's what I'm going to do if I don't hear something soon but I don't want to kick out 600 for a bolt just to turn around and buy something else I kinda wish the xperia arc was coming to vzw I would be all over that if they increased internal memory

I'm a little surprised at the poor understanding of Nexus phones. Nexus phones will never come with a locked bootloader, just as neither manufacturers or carriers or are allowed to modify the software for it.

In terms of "deserving" the phone, Google doesn't care about that at all. Motorola isn't going against Android terms by locking the bootloader. Google could decide to impose an open bootloader on every phone but it's never done so up to now.
I have no insider information on how it decides on Nexus manufacturers, but I strongly suspect that Google simply puts out a RFP for a new phone and different manufacturers respond with their proposals. Contraints will be price, certain hardware features (e.g. NFC), production and distribution abilities, etc... As long as those are met, G doesn't care who makes the phone.

ORLy!?

I need a keyboard tho. The Nexus line only gets like 2 updates before the next Nexus comes out. It's kinda of a waste

How is it a waste? The phone works fluidly without annoying updates that take up memory
