Yes you can video but we and or i are not disputing claims
As for the iPhone scotty yes it was the 16gb version he had.
However I'm not going to protest but my Android experience since the S3 has been great, sure the platform has had its issue's and still does but they are not a hindrance to my life or annoying for that matter.
IOS is more stable to a degree but its far far from perfect either.
Software is progressive and it has to be because of Moore's law to a degree (as hardware is constantly advancing).

I hope your G4 works out great!
I can't decide if the heat & battery issues that I saw were simply a function of the phone's design, or if mine had a hardware problem, or if it is software related.
My thoughts:
- Design: The Qualcomm 810 is running quite hot, apparently, so LG chose the 808. But I believe the G4 is the first phone to use the 808. It is possible that the 808 is better (cooler), but maybe not as much of an improvement as we'd like. If it's getting hot, it's also using up the battery more quickly, so it's not only a question of managing (dissipating) the heat.
- Hardware: Some people whose G4s ran warm/hot reported that replacements ran cooler & had better battery life. I don't doubt them at all, for clarity. And my goal was to exchange mine, and try the replacement for a week or so (but the 14-day policy doesn't work like that). But I can't quite reconcile this in my head, how a different example of the same hardware should run much cooler and get better battery life.
I believe that some people did factory resets, with no improvement, then exchanged, and had better results. Which definitely would imply it's hardware. But I still don't quite understand. If maybe a heatsink wasn't mounted properly on one phone, making the CPU temperature climb, that would be one thing (would likely show itself as reduced performance, as the CPU slows down to protect itself). But the actual power given off as heat (and draining the battery) would remain the same for any 808, I would expect. Meaning the same battery life.
- Software: Perhaps the most likely thing, it seems to me, is that troublesome apps or system processes are running too often for some people, causing a big battery drain. This would kill the battery, and make the phone warm, also resulting in slower charging. I saw this sometimes with my phone. To me, this would be best-case, because of course software can be improved much more easily than changing the hardware. But I was unable to figure out what was causing it, if mine just had a software problem. And admittedly, software problems don't really explain how a factory reset might not fix a problem, and then why exchanging the phone *would* fix the problem.
I hope all the issues can be sorted out, because I really liked the phone & camera!

I think the issues could be caused by early batches.
Remember that the G4 is only recently released for the US market so initial batches for the US market (bar international models like the H815) might have some issues. It happens to mass-produced products as there's bound to be a bad batch of products.
Don't let the issues in this thread bog you down. Each and every phone out there has its own faults and weaknesses, and it's usually down to a defective unit. The Galaxy S6, HTC One M9, iPhone 6 and countless numbers of smartphones are not 100% perfect and have their own flaws. The G4 is still an excellent device and remember, we're only representing a small number of G4 owners. There are much more out there that are fully-working and pleasing their users. You'll most likely end up with a proper functioning unit, so don't worry too much if you're getting a G4, like I am.
What I usually do is wait a bit for demand to settle so that OEMs can iron out any software bugs and future batches are bound to have corrected any hardware faults. Sadly, I can't wait for a few months because the battery in my M7 is so degraded, it can barely last half-a-day with one 1.5-2 hours of SOT, not to mention that it's pretty warm, even in light usage. Time for an upgrade.

My G4 is awesome. No lag, no touchscreen problems (have tempered glass on). Various themes working great. Smart settings work, although don't use them much. Camera is awesome like the fact you can use manual settings. Ability to block spam phone calls, etc. Battery is also great, better (IMO) then the Droid Turbo. Overall extremely happy with this phone and it's running only 4G on AT&T. Running better then what the Droid Turbo did on Verizons 4G LTE (supposedly).

I agree. I am running on AT&T and I have zero lag issues and good battery life. I was on a S6 and returned it and haven't looked back. I see everyone complaining about the auto dim and I actually think mine works better then the S6. I had a G3 in the past and i remember that not getting bright enough in situations using auto. On the G4, it gets bright enough in all situations. So far, very happy and it will probably only get better.

I had the iPhone 6 + (64GB - Verizon version since it was unlocked) - I mainly had issues with re-draws and I ran into a few issues / problems such as my phone dialer freezing and locking me into that app (it wouldn't let me out). Even pressing the home button wouldn't take me out.. I had to re-boot the phone. Does it mean the phone was bad? Of course not -- phones are computers and computers bug out sometimes.

My G4 works very well. I have no lag, the battery life is great once I unloaded Goggle Services updates and then reinstalled them. Before, it had hung once or twice and was pulling the battery down. I also invoked battery saver to keep Location in check.
I have some minor complaints. The auto setting on display makes the screen dimmer than I would like in the dark but that may be due to the fact that I am old and just need more light to see in the dark. I think the screen colors are more realistic than the Samsung screens but definitely not as eye popping when it comes to color contrast...just more life like. I can see the screen in bright west Texas sun so I can frame pictures, etc. The screen does distort more when angle viewing but that is not a concern to me.
What I miss is the notification and drive mode from my Moto-X. If Motorola comes thru with their claims of a great camera, and the screen if bright enough to see outside, I might consider going to it...on the other hand, I may be used to the software on the G4 by then and not miss the X as much.
Right now, most of the complaints I see seem to be more due to Android software than the phone-that is my opinion, anyway. I think this is a great phone and I prefer it to S6 so it's a keeper. Phones are to the point that they are evolutionary rather than revolutionary so this one will be hard to top-again my opinion

My M7 will be two years old in August. I have the same problems that you do. I am leaning towards the the G4, but I can't count out the S6.

I, unfortunately, had to count out the S6 simply because it didn't have expandable storage.
Yes, the M7 doesn't have that and a removable battery, like the S6, but I really do miss them, coming from an S3. It's refreshing to go back to a device that has both.
Don't get me wrong. The Galaxy S6 is wonderful and will be more than suitable for a lot of people. I'm just not one of them.
I have never really bought into the wireless charging (how hard is it to plug in a cable?)
That was until my S6E and i bought the wireless charger as a package.
So my opinions have changed and its great just to place it on charge on my bedside table/unit.
Then there is coffee shops (Starbucks) and more that will adopt this wireless charging so if you in for a coffee & lunch well you can grab some electricity to
But the fact that the G4 doesn't have it out of the box is as you said a minor gripe and if that is the only one and the others are just trivial then yup.

What is the charge time of wireless verses plugin charging ?
I'm on the fence about returning mine, unfortunately. So much to like about the phone. I could live with the phone getting strangely warm with any use, and the short battery life (which may improve with more cycles), but the distorted Bluetooth audio is a real problem. Sigh.
I haven't read the Bluetooth audio thread, but my audio seems OK for calls in the car, and I've used it with a Mini Jambox speaker, it worked fine for me.

Well I had initially decided to return the G4. Yesterday was the last day I could send off my online purchase to T-Mobile for return. After using it the last couple days and shooting some raw files and touching them up in Lightroom and playing with the manual mode on the camera I was really impressed with some of the results I got. The battery life has also improved for me to around 4.5 hours SOT, about on par with my S6. Sooooo, I guess I am keeping both the G4 and the S6. Right now the G4 is my daily driver as I'm really enjoying the camera and the extra screen real estate it offers but the S6 is still my favorite device I've had.
I exchanged once already due to keystroke issues mostly, and this one started great but was as bad if not worse.... Switching to SwiftKey really made a difference. I had tried SwiftKey in the past but wasn't a fan.... It has made a huge difference. Very happy.
