Will you upgrade to a P4/XL?

Yup! My P2 is still going strong, and if, for some reason, I'm unable to get the P4, I'll be happy to stick with the P2 for another year. I would like something a little newer to look at, though!

I picked up an imported OnePlus 7 (non pro) to help me with my tech boredom until the P4 arrives. I switch between it and my 2XL.

Meee too! I was pretty irritated when they decided durable plastic was cheap looking. What's the point in having glass and metal phones if you have to have them in a case all the time so they have a shot at surviving a fall?

They like to sell fragile glass phones and label them "premium" so they can charge ridiculous prices for them, and hope you drop them and have to replace them sooner than you normally would if they were more durable plastic :-[

I imagine I will be getting the Pixel 4 near launch. I have a launch day Pixel 2XL and it still works good, most of the time, but its been 2 years, which is longer than I've recently kept phones before this one. Still a good phone, but it has gotten more buggy recently. Luckily, a restart tends the fix the random issues, but not sure how much longer that will work.

If you restart your phone every day, you won't have any issues ... just restart it every morning and it will be happy as a clam!

You have a point.

I need to restart my phone more often. I only restart it for updates and turn it off when my husband and I go to the movies...

Oops.

Yeah ... I learned about that when I had a Windows Phone. They told you to restart the phone daily for optimal performance. I noticed the few times I forgot that things would happen, like the phone wouldn't ring when called. Nothing horrible ... just irritating. But, I have carried over that habit. I find that if I forget for a few days, the P2 will get slow to respond to EVERYTHING. Restarting it immediately clears up the problem. So, daily restarts keeps the Pixel (and ME) happy!

Good point! Thank you for sharing! I'll try to restart my phone more often!

Although I am excited about the new features I just recently replaced my launch day P2XL with a Panda and I may get the P4 when the price has gone down around March or April, depending on finances.

Although I'm also excited about the pixel 4 phones, and project soli, I am in love with my pixel 3 XL camera every single feature is perfect for me.

I probably will too... I'm just going to wait til after the first release most likely around January February ish

I really wish they went with a wide angle lens since they already used software magic for a zoom/crop solution. Not a deal breaker tho.

Shame they cannot bring these releases forward. They always land after both the Note and iPhone which has to hurt sales.

Looking a nice device but not in a rush, to much coin so may wait awhile. Also if my P2 continues to work as well as brand new I may wait even longer. I know everyone likes the larger phones but I’d much prefer something smaller. The smaller P4 will be bigger than my P2. P4 at a 5.7 inch screen is more than I’d prefer. I wish google would make a smaller option.

It is sad to see the phones getting bigger and bigger while more and more folks are asking for smaller options. I personally like a phone in the 5.5 to 5.7 inch range if it has small bezels. It's hard to believe that when I got my Moto x pure edition it was considered huge at the time at 5.7 inches, and did seem huge to me as well, and now it's considered small lol.

What's the world coming to :O ;-)

Yeah that moto was a great phone but yet again I grew tired of the size after awhile. I have an iPhone 7 I use as a backup device and find i swap to it more and more simply because of it’s perfect(IMO)size. So comfortable to hold and carry in a shirt pocket. Now if only it weren’t iOS!
I have it set up as google as much as possible but still there’s no getting around the total lack of home screen customization. A sweet device, if only it ran android. ??????

I'm rethinking my "eh, I'm not sure" answer to... It's between the Pixel 4 and Samsung. I think. The 3 has a great back-to-school sale but with the 4's release hovering like a gentle breeze, I feel like I can't pull the trigger just yet. Well, that and the fact that I can't afford it right now! 🤣
