Will you use a different launcher?

I liked the Samsung one on the Note 7, and it is supposedly improved since then so will stick with stock. I know Nova has a horde of enthusiasts but I tried it and it just gave me a headache. Too much, much the way Evernote always sounded so great and when I tried to use it I just wanted to throw the phone across the room. I must have a simple brain or something. But I thought the Samsung launcher was good.

I've gotten used to the loo and feel of this windows launcher.
It'd be good to stay native as much as possible.
But, that sort of defeats one of the beautiful things about Android; customability.
Are you going to use another launcher or stay with the stock launcher?

The fact that on my s8 they updated the launcher to include the swipe down on home screen to lower the notification shade is keeping me around. That's all I went to Nova for. It helps a TON with a phone of that height.

I may slap Nova on my S8+ today just to see how it behaves with the Samsung UX. Getting impatient waiting for my Note so I need to do some sort of phone fiddling to pass the time lol

Every phone I had OnePlus IMO has the best launcher but in the end I still switch to Nova Prime after 3-4 days.

Is that in the settings somewhere? That's the best feature on nova and when trying it on a deep note 8 swiping both up and down just brought up the app drawer

Which carrier do you have? The ATT variant unfortunately does not have that feature.
