My Old Phone

So here is my story which literally has me typing this message.

I had a blackberry 8900 like 2 weeks ago, and because of its slow operating system, no touch screen and dislike for RIM. (literally every new phone they come out with has like 1 new additional feature. I don't think they believe in innovation lol. So i decided to sell it on Kijijij. I sold it, bought an iPhone 2g on Kijijij and that was suppose to satisfy me until the Droid Incredible was released. I started to have a bit of problems with it but they were bearable. So i went out last night for a work party and got completely smashed, and as all of us returned to the room i had discovered my iPhone didn't make it with me. I'm assuming i left it in the taxi but i got no clue. lol.

So now i'm stuck using some Samsung flip phone and paying for data i can't use, until i can get my grimy hands on a Incredible.

After losing my iPhone i am taking it as a sign to stay away from Apple and pledge my allegiance to the BEAST of a company that is GOOGLE. (gmail + chrome + android = win)

What would I do with an Incredible?

If I won an HTC Incredible I would first clean up the mess I made after receivig this piece of equipment. I would use my Incredible to show customers at my store why they should buy an Android device and what this amazing OS is capable of, thus expanding our already vast community of loyal followers. I would definitely use one of the torrent apps to download while I'm away.I'd also like to see long I could get the battery to last using the Juice Defender, Ultimate Juice, and setCPU, Power manager Full, and Process Manager Full apps. I think I'm gonna go for 3 days in the beginning and work my way up to a week at least. I would love to have a powerful android phone, plus sense would be awesome to use.

With an Incredible, I would...

Finally make good on the promise I made 9 years ago to take over the world.

See, the back story goes something like this:

I graduated high school in 2001 - year of the Space Odyssey. At the church I was attending, it was custom to have all the member students from the local high school come before the front of the congregation and say a little bit about their after high school plans - what college you wanted to attend, your college major of choice, and any goals that you had for yourself.

When it was my turn, I mentioned that I wanted to go the University of Texas at Dallas to study Computer Science and that my after high school plans included world domination... And that's when the congregation let out a sort of nervous/polite laugh...

So, now I need to make good on my promise to subjugate the world - otherwise I might go to hell for lying to a church! I can see the Incredible helping me keep track of the incredible amount of e-mail traffic between me and my loyal minions as well as help me keep track of the more mundane activities... like picking up the dry cleaning... or date night!

The story...I currently do live broadcasts for my church community. I am usually running around with wiring and rushing back to turn the computers of software on. If I win the Incredible, I believe I can configure it with Remote RDP to launch the broadcastnig software from my phone to my computer while working with the wiring instead of running around!

What will I do with my Incredible? Easy! Save the Cheerleader! Save the World!

I am a physician (but not rich! I'm a poorly compensated med-school professor). I use my cell-phone primarily for its agenda/datebook/contacts/emailing/web-surfing abilities along with the calling. However, I also have the need for taking clinical photos to keep track of for instance an area of infection over time in patients. The LED flash & the resolution promised in this phone along with the 16-32gb of flash memory + 8gb of additional onboard memory on this htc Incredible will be quite useful in this regard. I also have about 26gb-worth of music I've accumulated over the years. I will enjoy finally being able to ditch an additional mp3-player (my ipod) and have a true all-in-one device. The ability to do instant clinical searches on UptoDate online at a patient's bedside will also be invaluable. I project that the htc Incredible will brighten my life in many ways, perhaps help saves lives.

If I were honored to receive a complimentary HTC Incredible I would use it to demonstrate, to the high school students in my algebra 1 class, how effectively they can use their cellphone in a classroom. On a campus where cellphones are constantly being confiscated for texting, I believe that if students were properly educated on the use of cellphones (particularly droid smartphones) they would use them to achieve academic success rather than attempting to text their friends.

I intend unlock the power of the android market to show students how/where to get apps that will assist in academic progress.

For example, how to use the easycalc or graph lite app to solve systems of linear
equations and graph linear functions in my algebra class. Additionally, how to use the
polynomials math calculator app to calculate the roots of a polynomial expression.

-Show students that having programs such as formulas lite can not only benefit a
math class but also in their chemistry class when asked about the periodic table.

-Study for exams using mobi flash cards.

-Teach my journalism students to post scores of athletic events on our wordpress blog
and facebook account using the corresponding android apps.

-I could also us an app like the gmote to use my phone as a wireless presenter mouse
to free myself from the front of the classroom to advance lecture slides, improving my
ability to control classroom behavior.


While the list of possibilities is endless, I welcome the opportunity to enlighten high school students to the educational advantages they have at their fingertips buy using their android phone as a classroom tool instead of a texting device.

Additionally, a phone of this caliber would help improve my productivity as an educator allowing my outlook calendar to sync with my phone to keep track of parent conferences and other school related functions. It may also be my greatest asset in effort to keep connected with my parents/students. If connect the phone to my work email address, I would then be able to respond to homework questions or parent concerns "on the go" instead of only while in my classroom.

I have a Moto Droid and now i find out that after only having it for a few weeks that HTC is coming out with something better! It makes me sick! I would like to have the latest and greatest phone for once and enjoy it. I knew something better would come along but not this soon! I would love to have the Incredible!

In that a phone is a reflection of your personality, I would like to say that thus it would help to make me Incredible. But this is not true but it would finally give me a chance to have an Android phone, and what a phone it is. The possibilities of what one can do with this are very extreme, with the hardware being what it is, the limit would not be in the phone but more likely in the user. And as a new user of the smartphones it would be a pleasure to learn from this super phone. Thanks for your consideration!

well the bluetooth hasnt worked since the 5.o software update , the keyboard doesnt work well it wont take my pass word any more so i had to remove password because it was going to wipe all my info for the 2nd time , so since it wiped i have lost everything on it and that was a vzw tech that caused that one , so i am so ready for a new phone either a htc incrediable or a htc evo one network or the other i am not picky at this point

Since I am an Android virgin, I would try to do Incredible things with my Droid. I would use the Incredibly fast processor to download some great apps for my Droid. I would take some Incredible photos, and upload them to Facebook. I would download some Incredible music, and listen to it with my bluetooth stereo headphones. I would use Google maps to find Incredibly fast ways to my destinations. The virtual qwerty keyboard will allow me to tweet about this Incredibly awesome website www.androidcentral.com. I would use the mobile broadband connect on my Incredibly small netbook, so I have internet wherever I go. I would use it to call all my friends and family to tell them the Incredible news that I won a Droid. If you think this is punny, you should see the phone I am using, it's a Diamond in the rough.

Here's what I would do..........

1st. I will allow you guys at ANDROIDCENTRAL.COM to emblaze the Droid Incredible I will receive with your logo anywhere, and I mean ANYWHERE, you want. The back is a nice, sizeable area where your logo would look nice, and you could probably fit some of your goods on the front - your call. Think Pimp-my-Droid. (Cheesy I know but bear with me........)

2nd. I will sign a written agreement that I will never modify the device. FREE ADVERTISEMENT FOR YEARS.

3rd. I will take my new, pimped-out ANDROID CENTRAL phone, shoot an HD video of the the phone (courtesy of the onboard HD video recorder) and make sure it is clearly visible that I got the baddest MF'ing Droid Incredible on the Damn streets, PERIOD!

4th. I will post this video on youtube and title it "Free Droid Incredible from Android Central" or whatever title you want. Trust me, the term free Droid Incredible will be Googled a million times. When my video is watched, and it will be, BAM!!!! Free advertisement.

5th. The beauty of it all is this will be accomplished with my new phone because DROID DOES IT.
