When I purchased my EVO 4G, it was my very first smartphone. It was an awesome pick, and I am very happy because Android ROCKS! It would be nice if I acquired the Epic 4G. I would give it to my girlfriend in CA where she also has Sprint and we have a long distance relationship. I'm not much of slide out keyboard dude, but my girlfriend is ALL about it! I want her to experience all that Android has to offer!

@toiz: The screen uses way less power with the Super Amoled. The black parts of the screen use no battery at all, which makes sense and saves tons of power.

Sweet!

Well, I was at Best Buy this morning for something unrelated, and got to see the Epic. I'm torn between and Epic and an Evo, coming from a BlackBerry Tour. But winning one would certainly make my decision easier! ;)

I never ever dreamed that I would become obsessed with a phone, or an operating system the way that I am. Android got it's hooks into me big time. I am carrying the incredible now for work on my job, but I want a phone and network to call my own, and the 4G from Sprint is very decent from the reading I have done on them.

I hope that a little luck shines my way, and I get this beautiful marvel of technology!

Thanks AC!

Sweet! I appreciate the opportunity, I am a former blackberry user that has been converted to Android. I currently have an Incredible which I paid retail for so I can still switch to Sprint and take advantage of their competitive rates BUT what would really make me switch is the opportunity to upgrade from my 3.7 inch screen (in my opinion okay but not perfect) to a sweet spot 4.0" Screen (Buddy has the Droid X and it is just a tad bulky or too wide) and a PHYSICAL KEYBOARD. Yeah I can type on my screen just fine BUT there are a lot of times i see it as a benefit not loosing all that screen real estate to the software keyboard.

Here is hoping. Fingers crossed...

I love android and the idea of possessing this phone makes me all giddy inside. I would love to be able to put that super amoled screen and 1ghz hummingbird processor through its paces. I think a physical keyboard would als be ideal for gaming.

My Wife Needs an Epic

So I convinced my darling wife to switch networks from Verizon to Sprint so I could get an Evo on June 4. She said sure but I want a keyboard. So she got a Samsung Moment. However she started to like my Evo, so we traded in. It took like three weeks and countless attempts to find an EVO. However, she misses her keyboard.

Yes how cool would it be to get her an Epic phone!

Oh and BTW September 2nd (draw day) just happens to be our 10th wedding anniversary which I think is traditionally electronics. OK I guess it is shiny metal or diamonds. But how Epic to get a keyboarded phone AND a shiny new diamond.

Did I also mention that she also kinda listens to the podcast (if I play it loud).

Thanks.

I have a Dinc, and for whatever reason it never wowed me like it did most people...think i'm tired of sense, or maybe its the weak battery life and the fact that this has a 4" screen. The DX looks too big so I never bothered with it, 4" seems a sweet spot for me and I was impressed with the Vibrant when I played with it. Anyway, here's to winning!

I will be an Android convert real soon. Right now I have the Palm Pre and by the looks of it me and my wife would really love to have the Epic 4G. It does everything that we are asking for and more. I love the fact that the Android phones are very customizable to your liking so you have the control of what you can make the phone do. I think that's really cool. Please pick us!!!

Bb 9700

I have "browsed" around the forums often, thinking... Maybe one day I will jump from my beloved Crackberry forums to these ones. This phone has been in my scope for a while!

I am going to make the jump soon. That keyboard seals the deal for me (love me some keyboard)! :D

IT'S FINALLY HERE! I have been lugging around this Touch Pro and dealing with all the annoying problems that come with this phone. I decided to go with the EVO then after the lack of supply and hearing there was something else coming that had a keyboard I thought I'd wait for that.
I can't wait to have a larger screen and something that doesn't freeze up all the time! EPIC HERE I COME!

I am excited to see this phone hands on and compare to the Evo. I do know however it will be a welcome change from my iphone (which hasn't worked in 4 months). Android definitely is coming on strong and the customizable nature of the OS has made my decision to switch and easy one.

This would be a terrific gift for my other half's birthday, which was on the 28th. The plan was to get her the Evo, but as you all already know, it is sold out damn near everywhere. I know Sprint just got a shipment in, but I am trying to avoid ordering directly from them because I don't feel like dealing with the mail-in rebate when it can be removed upfront at a Best Buy.

So here's hoping I am the one that gets picked randomly.

Tired of waiting...

I was on an Evo waiting list with my Sprint carrier for 2 months. Since they could not get the Evo in stock, I had them put me on an Epic waiting list instead thinking Samsung would have less problem keeping stock. Now, they tell me they can't get the Epic yet and have no idea when they will be able to get them. So, now I've been waiting for over 3 months for a new phone! So, sick of this. I just want a fast Android based phone!

Sprint Epic 4G available today, and we're giving one away!

As a former Sprint Employee I havent seen this much excitement since the old Treo days. With the Epic 4G and The HTC Evo welcome back to the game!

cherias

Android Central, Samsung Epic 4G, and Sprint, you are all awesome!!! I would love to have one of these phones!!! :)

I love my Evo, mostly because its my first Android phone, but sometimes its a little too big for me. You see I've got these tiny man hands. The same reason I'm too embarrassed to eat at Burger King.

So far this is the only Android device I've seen that has the potential to make me leave my Pre.

If I won it, the decision would be extremely easy! haha

So... how long before a hardware hack to make this work with the Palm Touchstone? ;)

There are so many reasons I want this phone; the Hummimgbird processor, AMOLED screen, physical keyboard, just to name a few... oh, and the TouchWiz UI is absolutely beautiful.
