With the EVO 4G, how can you pick just 1 thing to love about it???!!! But if I had to pick 1 it would the the Supersonic speed of the 4G Wimax! Can't wait until NY Metro is up and running on 4G!!!!

Why do I want the EVO?

Limerick -

There once was a man from nantucket,
who had all his old phones in a bucket.
"One more to the collection?"
he asked in relflection.
And dropped his old Hero in with a clunket.

Haiku -

I tried typing quick,
but on the Hero it turned
best into breast.... argh!!!

And it begins! The feeding frenzy of new accounts that we've never even seen here before, and never will again.

But to the topic at hand

But the Evo is a pretty neat device, I am most excited by the video chat ability. This opens up new doors for other android devices to have that. This phone is pioneering the "no more need to make a phone call" world. Because a voice is just a voice, but a picture is so much more!

Says the guy who registered in February ;)

Looking forward for the HD quality. Been stuck with my obsolete g1 for two years can't wait to get the next generation phone and the kickstand would make YouTube so much more comfortable to watch

HTC Evo

i am most excited about the video chat feature....it will be the first in the us that i know of...it would be perfect for me because it would save me plenty of time knowing whats goin on some where else before i get there or previewing something from far...its goin to be the best...

OMG! the Kickstand

You know what i missed most about upgrading to a freestyle bike as a kid? my kickstand. i hated laying my bike down in the dirt. you can't make a quick get away after TPing becky johnson's house if your bike is in the dirt. anyway, someone finally brought it back. after years of ignoring the simplest of wants HTC has brought it back. now i know a few of you fellers are gonna be scratching your head and asking what is wrong with me, but let us be honest. how many times have you been sitting at the bar not wanting to lay your phone down in God knows what and finding anything to try and prop the thing up. FYI i think i had the most success with an empty cigarette box. and how many times have we seen threads and videos of people ghetto riggin' this and that to the same end. i mean come on. COME ON. all you guys know the kick stand is the blast from the past that is getting everyone all hot and bothered and 4G is just a perk. i mean 4G is nice, but it was inevitable. the kickstand is the real icing on the cake here.

What I'll do with my summer vacation

With the Evo 4G, I'll be able to watch movies while I'm on vacation this summer, without having to over-exert myself by having to stand up to put a DVD in the player, or having to punch numbers on my remote control. I intend to move as little as possible, and let the Evo 4G do all the work.

I'm excited about the display with the processor making for some great mobile web action.
If I don't win I have to wait until November :(

The front-facing camera. Forget texting and driving, now we can cause accidents by videoconferencing and driving!

Evo 4g saves lives!

At the Rescue Helicopter base I work at, the EVO 4G will:

1. Let me speak with dispatcher consistently and clearly without dropping the call.
2. Check automated weather/radar web sites, via blistering 4G connection, while at the helipad to see if it will be safe to fly.
3. Receive and review e-faxed and e-mailed xrays/CT's and records about my patient, on a large 4.3" AMOLED screen, while en route to the transferring ER for patient pick up.
4. Help me rapidly do critical drug calculations for my dying patient and video consult my medical director via front facing camera.
5. Look up the latest medications and treatment protocols in ePocrates while working on the patient in flight. I will use the GPS and save waypoints to help navigate and determine ETA's.
6. Allow me to take pictures of the car crash the patient was in, to show the trauma surgeon how much force was transferred to my patient on impact.
7. Send a quick text to dispatch to mark essential times like lift off, landing, arrival at patient or receiving hospital, back at base or in service. Imperative tracking for QA and if we suddenly drop off radar.
8. Relax between missions by listening to music or watching movies, so I'm refreshed for the next rescue.
9. Organize and review all my continuing education and medical journals, via professional intranets, to keep me up to date with the latest methods and modalities for saving lives.
10. Maintain a life-line to my wife and kids, via voice and messaging, which keeps this job in perspective. This motivates me to push on in this hot, bloody, back breaking and sometimes dangerous job I do.

What is there not to be excited about! Giant screen, fast processor, 4g, WiFi hotspot, data and talk at the same time, and video chat! This phone is gonna be a beast!

I think the 4.3" screen does it for me. Having to log into a server's webpage and schedule class recordings while I'm on the four trains commuting from NJ to NYC would be a most awesome thing. Pinch to zoom and moving the screen around to do all the drop downs selections and fill in the blanks can get quite tedious on my current phone. Having the 4G network to make the data upload/downloads between the phone and server go faster as I try to make them happen before I head into the tunnel going under the Hudson would also be nice. The Snapdragon flies along and having the front facing camera would be great for all those Facebook pics you want to post instantly. Seriously, the EVO has nothing to not love about it! In many ways it could make all the things I need to do on my laptop possible in a much more mobile and lighter way than needing to drag the laptop out for everything.
