Ya I think I must have just a bad battery because all that wwas plugged in was mmy phone charger. It's stock since 2000 haha

Getting real nervous and excited now.

The place was 20 minutes from where I was. I didn't get there in enough time. It was nowhere near the limits of the GPS coordinates.

It looked (from the video) like the one in Miami was taped to the bottom of two coasters or something?? VERY CLEVER VZW!!!

I WON THE ONE IN SAN ANTONIO!!!! Well, my buddy Vince did. But he was there for me and will give me the phone once he gets it. Man I was sooo excited! I need that phone. I've had the Droid Eris(rooted) for almost 2 years.

I'm sorry Fletch. Don't know what your mix up was. I picked up my friend at 5pm. We headed towards downtown, cause I thought I'd be at Market Square based on map. Got tweet at 5:04 that it was at Sunset Station. Luckily I was on freeway already and was able to be at Sunset Station by 5:11. I never looked at GPS coordinates. I just frantically searched till I saw the guy with the camera. Started looking and called Vince to come where I was at and he started looking. Found it in 4-5 mins. In that time about 6-7 people showed up, but he ultimately got it. He was wanting me to say I found it but I said they got it on camera and for him to do all the stuff, I know who will be getting it that's all that matters...

So I think it was a combination of luck and the fact I had four eyes looking for me. Maybe the next one will be in Austin and Fletch, you'll have the local advantage. Now, Waiting Is The Hardest Part...

Hey thanks man, no worries, it's not your fault and Congratulations on winning, to your and your friend. Another guy (I think NYC Fire Museum) was in the same situation, so he gave his buddy the phone, but I guess he actually GOT the phone that day, whereas you and others didn't.. ??? (something about not being prepared to hand out working phones??)

Anyways, yes, hopefully the next one is in ATX. I would have skipped GPS coords too but A) they were always updated/correctly, and B) if I was local to SA I would have known Sunset Station and might have beat you there, but I don't, so you had local advantage, and you deserved to win it! :D

You gotta poach wireless to check google maps as well as ping a Garmin. I checked to make sure I had both locked in on the same place and gunned it. I was unaware that they even updated the GPS locations after they announced it.

When I saw the tweet that said "Sunset Station", I immediately checked the map and sure enough the coords had just changed. Mind you, I had been refreshing that map every couple of mins idling in my car with the AC on for the past hour or two. :D

I saw it was updated and without thinking, like I had practiced whilst sitting there in the car, I just simply clicked on the Google logo and chose Navigate to it - this was ON MY ANDROID PHONE MIND YOU!! So I had no real easier way to get there. I did what they wanted me to do. I started driving. EVERYTHING SINGLE UPDATED MAP TO DATE ON THIS CHARGELANDING WEBSITE has gone to the exact same named location when you zoom in far enough. I didn't even waste my time to second guess them. WHOOPS. On my laptop I googled Sunset Station and saw it over by the Alamo Dome. I thought for sure that was wrong (Google maps is sometimes wrong) but instead Google maps was RIGHT and instead the VZW chargelanding.com updated GPS coordinates were WRONG. There is no Sunset Station there. That is what I get for trusting PEOPLE over my technology. SHAME ON ME!! I WON'T LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN VZW!! :p

Anyways, good game, I'm glad some folks on the forums here won!! No animosity, just will have to try harder next time. In fact, now I have an idea. I might set one up for Android HC - anyone going?? Speaking of, has anyone heard of The Go Game?? They do a lot in Palo Alto - awesome teambuilding events, if you ever get the oppty to arrange one!! (and yes, they use all Android phones for the Go Game!!) :D

Wade n I got the Rochester, NY :) very happy !!

Congratulations. As I said I was there. How did you know that it was going to be around there or did you just guess right? I was for sure that it was going to be down at Dino BBQ. This other nice I Guy I met from UB Law School were going as fast as we could to get over there but we got there probably two minutes after you guys had found it. Fun experience all together just wish I could have searched for it a little before you found it haha.
