you want to wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, go to advanced in recovery wipe dalvik cache and wipe battery stats

Alright I'll wipe all that stuff and then reinstall the rom and try booting

no problem all it says is "SS ROM"

Im sure mines is running 2.6.7 because mines says SS ROM 2.4 but my wifi works and on 2.4 it does not

are you expiriencing any problems on 2.6.7? because everything worked great on 2.6.7 when i flashed it earlier, except i couldnt install any apps, from anywhere without it freezing and restarting the phone

none that i can think of working pretty swell for me i needed my wifi so i switched to 2.6.7

what order did you format and flash everything? i might have not formatted something i needed to, which might be what fixes the app problem, cuz i cant stand not having wifi either

So I finished installing it again and made sure to wipe the cache and stuff before and after. It boots HTC screen, then goes, black, reboots to HTC then goes to recovery. I go to reboot and it does the same thing. I have rebooted 2x now.

You said the animation patch was supposed to make it have a blue looking animation right?

So I finished installing it again and made sure to wipe the cache and stuff before and after. It boots HTC screen, then goes, black, reboots to HTC then goes to recovery. I go to reboot and it does the same thing. I have rebooted 2x now.

correct, the animation is a blue htc logo that shatters.

but, you wiped the things he said before, and after the install? if so, wipe everything smartbrotha said before flashing the rom, then flash the rom, reboot, let it sit at the black screen and see if the lockscreen shows up after 3-5mins

I'll try it again one more time. So wipe, flash, wipe, boot. then flash the bootanimation? Right now every time I turn it on, it goes directly to CWM recovery....

also the app to sd works so i think simon for got to change the software number and i just as long as u format everything before u flash the rom it should be fine

no no, wipe everything smartbrotha said, flash, reboot, if it gets to the lockscreen, boot back into CWM, then flash the bootanimation.

only wipe before you flash the rom, otherwise your just undoing your flash.

so since you said the apps 2 sd works, does it try to automatically install the apps to my sd? and if thats the case, do i have to have my sd card formatted a certain way for it to work? ultimately, if all of that is true, would that be whats causing my phone to crash whenever i attempt to install a app on 2.6.7?

not necessarily because i use a 2gb sd card (not partitioned) to install my roms and everything else but i have a 8gb sd card fot personal use 1 gb partitioned for apps to sd also apps to sd didnt work in the applications settings in the phone like for Ex. when u try to move a app to sd it will fail (only in SS ROM 6.4) i dont kno why u are having trouble installing apps :'(

yeah im stumped with it as well :/ but at least its working well for you.

idk what to do about it, i can get by without wifi on the old rom, but, the lack of internal memory for apps is kinda killing it for me. i just wish cm7 was working for the vm phones, i had it on my OV and absolutely loved it. at the very least i wish i could get my hands on the OC kernal that simon released, but the link he provided for it is dead, im just getting boned left and right :/ lol

i think im gonna try wiping everything you said to the other guy and see if that changes anything, because i know i didnt wipe all of those prior to flashing 2.6.7, wish me luck!

maybe a minute at the most, then it should go to a black screen for 3-5mins before showing anything

also, im flashing 2.6.7 right now with the same CWM version as you for the first time, ill let you know what happens.

edit: ok, so it sat at the htc logo for about a minute and a half (i was starting to get worried, lol) then went right to the blue htc boot animation, im currently waiting for it to get to the lockscreen as i type this.

i didnt let it do its initial boot before i went back into CWM and flashed the boot animation, just for reference

edit, again: it got to the lockscreen and appears to be working fine, still dont know about the app crashing problem though

no more then 15 mins when i did mine might be even longer

Did you use the CWM from the first page? Installing zip from sdcard = flashing right? My CWM occasionally freezes and forces me to pull out battery.
Did you have your phone plugged into a power source when doing this?

i got it from elsewhere, but im sure its the same one, version 5.0.x.x or something right? with blue text?

mine never froze up on me though, and no i didnt have it plugged in, just made sure the battery was full enough so it wouldnt die during install

Yes with blue text. I may just have to reinstall it since it freezes and also reboots randomly sometimes. Wiped, Installed rom, then bootanimation and currently waiting at HTC screen lol.
