I think i have HW Accel working on Opti S BUT i cannot officially test( unless someone can give me a test.)

Well guys... sorry to not being able to help further but ive bricked my phone trying to get hw acceleration working :/
excuse my nubishness, but i just upgraded to zvh from zvd. it gave me xionia, which i dont know how to use. when i try to flash, it says its unsigned
click install from sdcard then toggle signature verfication
From recovery, hit "Install .zip from SD card" and choose "toggle signature verification". Then try to flash "CM9-THUNDERC-ALPHA0-UNSIGNED.zip"
You need to turn off signature verification in order to get it to flash. Hence the "unsigned" part of the file name
Dude, that sucks. Sorry man. Thanks for all the help so far though! You allowed me to more or less have a successful build of CM9 on my Optimus S. (That is, without data. lol)
its really awesome to see ics on the optimus, id stick with it, but it cant play videos.

kp500 tools. took 30 times cuz emode kept resetting. but i finally got it to start flashing and it didnt restart

Not trying to cause mass rioting, BUT, i am currently testing kraven built CM9 build on ZVD, that absolutely everything works on, except camera libs. im posting from it now. on a mobile data connection. not sure when its gonna be ready for prime time, cause there are some kinks still, but, theres hope for a fully funtional cm9, soon.
