Just had another vision: what about a Cyan Hippo crushing or maybe eating the Windows logo...

I know think the Hippo should by Cyan and maybe the hippo could do lots of things. Unfortunatly, we can only use one or two ideas...

SOME of the Pink in the ROM will be removed due to user requests...

I do not like the idea of using someone else's graphic to create the animation because I want it to be original...

I am still thinking... What do yall think the hippo should do or what should the animation look like??

Regarding the Windoze logo, you should probably leave it out, as a matter of taste. The only appropriate thing for any creature to do is to wipe one's ass with it anyway... why do you think they call it Microsoft?

If you don't want to help their mission to eradicate freedom and choice while charging higher prices for crappy products, omit their brand from your design. If more Android themers did this, M$ wouldn't have their logo on any smartphone that people buy and use.

Regarding the Windoze logo, you should probably leave it out, as a matter of [epidenimus's] taste. The only appropriate thing for any creature to do is to wipe one's ass with it anyway only about 90% of the computer using world disagrees with you on that one, and for good reason, as I've expierianced more bugs in the last month with my ubuntu installation than a year and a half of my windows installation (dual boot, so hardware is the same)... why do you think they call it Microsoft that's the same as saying that ubuntu is just for animals because of the naming scheme?

If you don't want to help their mission to eradicate freedom and choice while charging higher prices for crappy products actually, some of their products aren't half bad (microsoft security essentials, for one, is quite nice), and since win8 seems to fix a lot of the problems for win7, they obviously listen to their customers, omit their brand from your design.Sounds more like apple to me (one grand for a computer with as much space as a large microsd card, anyone?) If more Android themers did this, M$ wouldn't have their logo on any smartphone that people [younger than 70] buy and use. Actually though, winfo7 has some high points (blazing boot time, cool transitions, beautifully simple UI, more easily hackable than apple, available on multiple pieces of hardware).

@Valhalla: I didn't intend to turn this into an OS war, so I won't waste more space voicing my contrary opinions on your comments above. I admit that I was highly frustrated when I posted, having spent most of my morning trying to hack around the imcompatibilities of Exchange with clients other than Outlook, reinstalling Win7 on a machine because a kernel module just stopped working, and answering calls mostly revolving around the substandard webpage coding that Microsoft taught our developers to implement as a means to make its competitors look incompatible while it still had substantial share of the browser market.

My suggestion was that this boot animation/theme not include the logo, because the idea suggests that Android is somehow an underdog competitor in a market where Microsoft has no mentionable presence, except its Active Sync license. Omitting them and producing a quality product that does not need them is the best way to thumb your nose at them.

I agree that some M$ stuff is awful. WinFo is a reboot of WinMo, which failed spectacularly, for about a decade there, IE was some crap (it's getting better, but I still prefer Chrome), and than there was Vista. I'm not gonna even start on Vista. That stuff is best left unsaid. I'm just saying that just because it has the M$ logo doesn't mean it's bad. (whereas most apple fans obsessors believe the opposite: "Because it has the apple logo, it HAS to be good! Like this)

My name is Patrick. I create Boot Animations and UOT Kitchen themes for MDPI (devices with a screen size of 320 by 480) devices and the LG Optimus S, respectively.

Me and the developers on Android Central, an Android forums website, were wanting to know if we could use your icon from your application "Hippo Jump", found on Google Play (Market), to create a Boot Animation for the LG Optimus S and other MDPI (screen size of 320 by 480) devices. We were talking about ideas on how we can make our hippo-themed Animation and UOT Kitchen Theme, and a poster on the Theme's thread mentioned that he found a nice hippo icon on Google Play and we did not want to go ahead and create the animation using your icon without permission. That is what I am writing to you today for...

If you grant us full permission to use your icon from "Hippo Jump", any of your .apk (Android Application Installer) files will not be shared on the forums or with anyone in forums. This includes Private Messaging in the forums, Instant Messages, or by other means of sharing. I wouldn't do this anyways, with or without your permission to use your icon, but I just wanted you to know that I would never infringe your application on the forums, file sharing sites, or social networking sites, including Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace.
