Hi,
I am interested in using only wireless charging for my s8 plus. Does anyone use a fast wireless charging mount for the car? Does it or will it charge while using GPS with Google Maps? Recommendations? Thanks

Interested also, but I doubt wireless could keep up with Maps and GPS. There are a number of them listed on Amazon, but this phone is too heavy for a vent mount.

I use a regular round Samsung quick charger in my truck, and have for a while now. It fits in the cup holder.

I think I'm too picky about a car mount. I want magnetic wireless fast charging with a vent mount. It seems impossible to find that combination.

I bought a Qi-infinity for my Note 5 ($30 refurb on eBay). I wasn't sure if the charger would line up well on the s8+, but it worked even better than the Note 5.
Haven't done a long trip with the S8+ yet, but the Note 5 kept up using Maps wile connected to the car's system via Bluetooth with no problem. When I started playing Pandora (through the car system) it lost about 5% per hour.
I actually expect the S8+ the get better charging rests, since It's supposed to be power optimized.
I use the mount from the vent, and have noticed no problem. I use a Spiegen Ultra Hybrid case.

That is a dash mount, looks very good. Those types of mounts won't stick to my dash though, looking at DVD mounts currently. Thanks for the link!

It has a dash and vent mount, both included in the box.

that's because for magnetic mount you will need a ferromagnetic metal plate on your phone as that would inhibit wireless charging

I bought the Tylt Wireless charger car mount and I think they are just too bulky. Plus you still need to run a wire to it to charge ur phone. Still does not charge as fast as using a QC wired car charger.

Wireless charging works just fine with maps, GPS and playing music or podcasts. I've been doing it for a while now.

I almost never plug my phone in. Haven't plugged the S8+ into a charging wire since I got it.

I've tried at least a dozen different models and have settled on this one...

I have the Choetech T510, vent mount. No, it doesn't fast charge, but I usually drop it on there fully charged for my morning commute (50 miles each way) and even when it's down a little bit from my morning routine, it charges right back up to %100, even with WAZE going and maybe talking on the phone. It might show 98 or 99% for a bit, but pops back up to 100%. I got it for my Edge 7 and was afraid it might not work with new phone, but it does, no hiccups at all. I guess I'm lucky that I don't need the fast charger during the day. Since I like the screen up where I can see it, whether I'm using WAZE or not, it's charging for bits of time during the day. Plus this phone gets much better battery life (until it gets screwed up with VZW updates), stays nice and cool (my other phone got so hot while charging that it got little pink wavy lines all over it. Its was kind of scary. I know it's supposed to shut itself down when it gets too hot, but dang, I could barely touch it).

I bought this one. Not only does it fast charge with GPS and Google Maps (it went from 96 to 100% in 7 minutes), it works fine on my vent. It is too big for the dash IMHO.

I purchased this and can confirm that it indeed has fast charge. Maybe too fast.

My phone is getting hot in this charger while charging. It occured to me... There is no reference this is following a fast charge protocol. I think it's a 3 coil "always full blast" fast wireless charger. My desktop Samsung fast charger does not heat up my phone. This one does.

Anyone else with this charger notice this?

The previously released Samsung wireless fast charger has a fan built into it to help keep it cooler. Not sure how much difference it makes, but it's there.

I use the cup holder mount. It's basically interior open air. I tried with screen off to charge for a 15 min ride and it was fine. A little warm but fine. The hot temps were with screen on.

As I think about the fan on the Samsung fast charger, maybe that does make the difference. I always thought charging voltage got regulated for fast charge depending on level of battery charge capacity. As I think about it now it may not work this way for wireless fast charge. How would a wireless fast charger obtain info about battery capacity? Maybe it is a constant fast charge on the Samsung as well.
