Wireless charging has stopped working

So, I got a Note 8 and a Samsung Fast Wireless charger. Everything worked fine for about a day, and then wireless charging stopper working. I called Verizon, and they agreed that it probably wasn't a software issue, because it also didn't wirelessly charge when the device was off. They very nicely sent me a new one.

I got the new one and wireless charging worked fine. But, when I reset the old one in preparation for sending it back, wireless charging started working on that one too. And, the next day, it stopped working on the new phone.

So now, I am guessing its a setting or an user app, although, I can't imagine how an app could do that. I also tried starting the phone in Safe Mode, and that didn't work either. I also tried starting the phone without the SD card just in case, and that also didn't work.

I'm not going to do another reset without knowing the issue because it will just happen again.

Has this happened to anyone else? Has anyone else heard anything like this?

It's not a huge deal, but wireless charging would be nice to have.

Did you get the newest version of the wireless charging pad? Samsung changed the rules somewhat with the S8 series regarding wireless and I would assume that carried forward to the Note 8.

I'm using the fast wireless charger from the s7/S7 Edge and it has worked without issue since I bought the Note 8 three days ago. I'm not sure what the issue would be but I agree it does sound like something is changing in setting or something.

The S8's had pretty much the same thing, worked fine then get a message on the screen that it had stopped. Lots of discussion, IIRC the fixes were combination of new charger pad (new to the S8), different power head, cable. Didn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to fixes that I remember. I don't use FC.

I've got two of them and neither one is working. I've also tried different cables and plugs. No luck at all.

Do they charge at all? Can you still charge normally with a direct connect? Fast also?

Everything works perfectly and quickly. Fast charges wired with no problem. Only wireless does not work at all. I've even tried it with fast wireless on and off with no luck.

I'm using this one til my convertible wireless charger from promo comes and it works great with my note8 along with my note 5, note7 when I had it and s6 edge plus

I would try a different wireless charger. I had received a wireless charger and my S7 Edge would randomly work with it and then not work at all. I contacted Samsung and they sent me a new wireless charger. Then I had no problem with wireless charging and it works great with my Note 8.

I almost got the convertible one when I got my S8+ but decided against it. I knew I would most likely go back to the Pixel and it looks like that is true so saved myself some money. I am just a geek who likes updates so I am pretty much stuck to one phone lol.

Lol smart choice. No need to waste money on something you ain't going to use. I know they ain't cheap. The one in my pics in other post was like $80 I believe. Got it at bestbuy. The convertible one is free lol. Glad you have a phone that works well for you

I posted the same thing in this forum...I have both the convertible charger they gave away with this one and the one they gave away last year, and neither if them work with this phone after a week. it either doesn't register, or it does but still discharges...

I'm so sorry to hear that. I don't understand why some work and some don't.

I really don't see how software could be causing this, but with all the differences in chargers, phones, cables, etc., it's hard not to point that way.

To be honest I'm dumb when it comes to this subject lol. So I don't know. Sorry. Do you think maybe you can exchange that wireless charger or try a different one?
