Wireless Charging Issues (S6 Edge + New Charger)

Thanks, i put together my own system as they are quite easy, first month no problem, all week now its on/off/on/ff over and over.

You've hit the nail on the head with your theory! It's nothing to do with the charging pad - I've got the Samsung one that my phone came with in the UK and it still presented the same symptoms. The solution, as our esteemed engineer has formulated, is to increase the distance between the phone and the pad i.e. place the phone on the pad such that the camera bezel sits on the pad and not adjacent to it to create the much needed gap ;) Works a treat!:)

I'm using the TYLT wireless charger which does not allow you to swap out the connected charger. Most folks seem to be reporting no issue with this charger, but my GS6 is blinking on and off pausing the wireless charging every time the screen times out just as others are complaining about. Worked absolutely perfectly in exact same position in same socket with my Nexus 6. Not sure what to do.

Been having a similar problem with my S6 Edge and the official samsung round charger. I had the charger replaced but still having problems. The only way i have managed to get a full charge without the constant disconnections is to turn the phone off while charging. Not ideal i know but i put it on charge when i go to bed and its fully charged next morning. Hope its just a software glitch.

^^^ This also works for me. This or DayDream Mode on when charging are my only fixes. Using TYLT wireless charger which worked perfectly on other devices.

I haven't tried the daydream as I am not even sure how it is supposed to work but turning my BLUETOOTH off solved the issues I was having.

Thank You, I have been so aggravated. I put the paper in between like you stated and it worked. Thank You again.

i have the same problem with a genuine samsung wireless pad AND a cheap ebay bought pad. They both produce the same INTERMITTENT problem. I presume therefore the phone is faulty not the charging pad?

I had the same problem until I used the fast charging block. Been working great ever since

I actually had this same exact problem, and wrote a rather nasty review for the charger that I'd purchased. Their tech folks responded almost immediately and told me that my wall adapter was underpowered - that the wireless coils required greater than then 0.7A or even 1.5A typically produced by older chargers. I thought they were just feeding me a line but, in the interest of being fair, pulled out the adapter that came with the Galaxy S6 and noticed immediately that it was labeled as being an "Adaptive Fast Charging" device with 1.67A at 9V, or a full 2.0A at 5V.

Using that adapter instead, the problems went away immediately. No more annoying "dings" each time the screen saver kicks in, no more charging all night long and only reaching 90%, etc.

Go grab the white wall adapter that came with your S6, and use it instead of whatever you're using right now. I think there is a good chance your problems will go away!

This worked for me. Thanks so much. I had this problem without having a case and with having a case but now it went away. I am unsure how to bump up your post so I'll just reply to it and hope other people see it. The charger I was using was for my old galaxy s4 charger at 5V at 1A after I changed it to a 2.0A to 5V all my problems went away.

I'm using the samsung wireless charging pad and have similar issues. When I put on the phone, the blue light turns on for several seconds, and then it turns off. If I lift the phone and put it back again, sometimes it charges for a short time, sometimes this doesn't work, and sometimes the blue light keeps blinking.

I have tried many chargers I found in the house, most of them doesn't work, including a 2.1A iPad charger. Strangely an 1A iPhone charger works. I'm using a USB power measuring device to monitor. Right now, the voltage is around 4.5V and the current is around 0.5A. This charge doesn't seem to have good performance. So it's really strange that it works. I think I should find a better charger that works.

So if you have issues with wireless chargers, it may be a good idea to try every USB power supply you can find.

I have the s6 edge plus too. And I have the same problem when I go to wireless charge. And I'm using a sony one that I payed $59 for. I'm thinking maybe it's a setting or the firmware may need a patch or update. Wish I could be more help. But your not the only one. I may stop by verizon tomorrow and ask them.

I have the free Samsung wireless charger that was given by Best Buy when you got the new Note 5. So I know my charger should not be under amperage because it came with the charger by Samsung. It was having the same issue of stop charging when the lock screen activated. So I tried the daydream setting (turning on) and it fixed my issue as well. Thanks for the suggestion!

Just bought a Galaxy S6 edge plus (which is a terrible thing to say when people ask what phone I have). Anyways, got a wireless charger (official Samsung puck) from Best buy. Was having the same issue. Used the wall plug that came with it (2.0 Amps). Phone kept cutting out and pausing the charging. Switched the plug and chord out with the fast charging one that came with the phone. This seems to have fixed the issue. Not sure why since they are both 2.0A but it's worth a try for those of you that are still having issues.

Switch back to the charger that came with the puck, turn on Daydream like instructed in other posts and see if it works. Why waste your fast charger on the puck which cannot fast charge when another option might fix it and save your fast charger for when you really need it.

UPDATED.

Fast charger stopped working on it after the 1 night. Switched to my other wireless charger (zens 1Amp) seemed to work. Gonna replace the samsung wireless charger this weekend

I got my S6E on Saturday, with the free wireless charger. My issue is the phone starts to charge and in less then two minutes, the blue indicator circle light on wireless base starts blinking and phone stops charging. Today I took the charger back and got a new one. Same thing...
I trying the paper spacer right now...

I'm having the same issue. I got the wireless charger with the S6 edge+ from best buy. It always stopped charging. Today I went to best buy and exchanged it with a new one. The second one also acts the same way. I tried different power outlets but end up with the same result. Seems like best buy wanted to get rid of these crappy devices.
