Wireless Charging Issues (S6 Edge + New Charger)

I have a Galaxy S6 Edge +. None of the suggestions here work for the Samsung GALAXY Wireless Charging Pad. Complete piece of trash.

I have just bought a samsung charger with adaptive fast charging. This charger is really different, when power is drawn from it, its output voltage doesn't go down; instead, it goes up. Wow, such high-tech!

However, it still doesn't make the charging pad work. Just like with most of my other chargers, charging starts but after a few seconds, it stops. Right now, the only charger I have that works with the charging pad is still just an ordinary old iPhone charger with just 1A output.

I got my S6E on Saturday, with the free wireless charger. My issue is the phone starts to charge and in less then two minutes, the blue indicator circle light on wireless base starts blinking and phone stops charging. Today I took the charger back and got a new one. Same thing...
I trying the paper spacer right now...

I really want to know what the blinking means. But after googling and visiting samsung websites, I still can't find a manual for it.

Well it seems I am the ONLY person on all of the internet who is having this kind of problem with a Verizon Wireless Charger and the S6 Edge+. Friday of last week, the wife and I got the S6 Edge+, two wireless chargers, and 2 cases from Verizon, all the same everything.

My wife's phone has zero issues.

My phone; when placed on the wireless charger starts to charge, but then every percent it charges the phone turns on, beeps like I placed it down again and shuts off... it does this all the way to 100%, then stays off. It does this with or without the case on. I also swapped phones in other chargers and the wife's phone works fine in my charger and mine still acts stupid in her.

I reset my phone to factory thinking I messed something up and it still does it. Tried rebooting it and placing it again, same outcome. Going to take the phone back to Verizon today and ask WTF. Sounds a bit like a S6 Edge+ issue.

I'm having the same problem with wireless charging on T-Mobile Note 5. Returned Note 5 for an exchange and the wireless charging still stops intermittently. Happens on both the official Samsung wireless charger and the Tylt. BS!

Kind of same situation here... husband has S6 Edge+ and I have the S6 Edge. His works perfectly on the Samsung charger, but mine does NOTHING. I tried all the fixes listed here (daydream settings, charger change, etc.) to no avail.

There is no charger that will work with either the Samsung edge 6+ or the Note 5. I spent 3 days talking to many reps and my wireless phone company only to find out from "Daniel" a Samsung tech manager that the $49.99 charger will not work it is not compatible with either phone and when i asked him if there was a charger either Samsung or after market that would charge these phones wirelessly his response was... no, and there won't be for at least 2 more weeks from 09/2/2015 and it will cost $20 more at $69.99. So if you have the $49.99 Samsung charger I suggest you at least save yourself the frustration of the flashing blue light and just return it. There will never be a patch or fix for this you just have to spend even more money to actually get to use the wireless charging feature. I have been a fan of Samsung for years and am truly disappointed and so NOT HAPPY. I have considered contacting the BBB since they advertised this and sold that charger to go with it seems a little underhanded.

I am having that issue as well with the S6 edge plus but not the note 5. Not sure why it's not working or stop charging

So i have the problem only if the phone is centered. With my Edge plus and Samsung Wireless disk if i keep the phone centered side to side but actually 3/4 of the way up towards the top it works well. It will be less stable but it seems the connection stays in tact if it is not in the center (relating to top and bottom of phone) and maybe 1" to 1.5" off centered with the pad closer to the top of the phone. Try this and it should work. This is with a case on the phone etc. I did experience these problems but instead of calling I tried several different things first and this seems to be working.

I have noticed with vibration on if a notification comes through the charging will pause. Notifications without vibration will not pause. Although it works if I go through a crazy setup it should not be this finicky. Makes me wish I could just take the back off and check the wireless adapter BUT of course Samsung wanted to take this away.

I received an update from T-Mobile the other day on my Note 5. This was to add native video calling to the dialer. Since this update I have not noticed any issues with wireless charging anymore.

This method worked for me. Samsung S6 Edge/Samsung Wireless Charging Pad

I found a workaround for mine... using a Sony CP-W5 and a S6 Edge.

Got to watching it, and the disconnect always happened when the screen lock engaged. I beat it by setting Daydream (under Settings, then Display and Wallpaper) to happen when charging (it was set to Off by default), so it no longer goes into screen lock when I engage the charger, it locks when I remove it from the charger.

Worked for me.

Same problem, but it's intermittent. Some days it starts and stops all the time, other times it's fine. I didn't want to use day dream mode, but other comments gave me a clue. It's something to do with the charger placement. I flipped my phone over and put it in the wireless charger upside down. The issue has vanished. I also tested the phone slightly off center and right side up. It stopped turning the charging on and off, but the screen did light up when the charge was full. Next I put the phone sideways on the charger. The light came on when fully charged, but the cycle of starting to charge and then stopping charging did not happen.

In summary,if the phone is upright and centered on the charger, it endlessly cycles on charging to 'wireless charging has stopped', but in any other position, it's fine. I think it's either something to do with the coil placement or possibly heat that can't dissipate. Dunno, but just put your phone off center somehow and it should be fine.

I have the S6 Edge, and just got a wireless charge pad from ebay (Generic made in China thing) My phone would have the same issue with the lock screen.

It would only cut of wireless charging when the lock screen kicked in.

I am using a 2.0a Samsung charger, and Samsung cable.

I read above about the Daydream work around and it works for me - however my colleague has the sane wireless charging pad, and a Note 4 - His refuses to charge...daydream or not.

I definitely thing it is a Samsung / Android issue rather than a charging pad one.

I will use a cable to charge at night however as I don't want my room lit up by the daydreaming phone...which is annoying, but it's a work around of sorts.

It should just work though!

All of you guys need to flood Samsung customer service with this issue because they told me they haven't heard of this issue . Also do not try to boot into recovery mode because mine messed up and would only go to the s6 edge plus powered by android screen and then it would power off and do the same thing again. My wireless charging would only work when it was set to daydream when charging or if the screen was unlocked.

Hi, guys (and gals :) I was having the same problem with my phone, It would start to charge when I placed my s6 edge on the oem charging pad. However, as soon as the display went off, the charging pad would start to blink, and then it would stop charging, a second later it would beep and start charging again.... Aaaannnoooyyyinggggg......

This tells me that when the display light is on it obviously uses more power/amps and the charging pad works fine, but when the display goes off it uses less amps and the charging pad goes awol.

SOLUTION hat worked for my S6 Edge:
Turn on the Clock to show on the Edge of the screen. This will use just enough amps to keep the charge going.

Please let me know if this helped you.

Good luck.

Recently got an update S6 edge plus on AT&T. This seems to have fixed the issue. The samsung wireless charger is charging it now.

I've been having the same issues with my Note 5 since day one and have gone through a few Samsung wireless chargers. I found this thread this morning doing a search before I started a thread in the Note 5 forum. After reading through the thread I tried a couple of tricks like changing the power cord and power supply to an HTC one I had laying around. I've also tuned on the Day Dream function and have tested all day at work and everything seems fine now. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hopefully this will solve my issues.

Hey guys, so long story short. I just started having this problem last night. I've had the fast wireless starter for a week, never had an issue before then. My wife has the same phone and same wireless charger and no issues. I just received an update from my Sprint carrier and it was a security update and alsoalso added wireless charging improvedimproved. Even after that update, it still has issues. Day dream has worked.

We should all let Samsung know of these issues because they are clueless. I told them what has been happening and they said there were no reports of this issue. Contact Samsung to give them a mouth full !! Everyone should let them know of their issues so they can stop ignoring it!

Just an update, my problems got fixed 2 days ago, I received an update the morning after and the problem is no where to be found.
