Wireless charging ---> overheat (not really phone's fault)

I bought a wireless charger and it works ok.... until I have my case & steel plate then I get an overheat messages.

The rectangular steel plate (about 2 3/8 x 1 3/4( was installed north-south (long side) at the bottom.

I moved it west-east just below the lenses. I still get the message.

Somebody (with an Iphone) suggested that this plate is too large. There are smaller round plates (1 1/4 or so) and if installed at the bottom, it won't trigger this message. He told me that in his phone, the "receiving" component was in the middle of the frame

Any experience with this?

What's the steel plate for? My guess is that the plate as well as the case are interfering with the phone's ability to dissipate the heat generated by the wireless charging.

Any metal placed between the coil and inductor shall produce heat, enough to melt your equipment. I've posted pics previously of this noncompatibility showing my melted charger.
Be cautious, as most wireless chargers have multiple coils to react with.

Correct, I checked and mine has two coils, so trying to move the plate's position won't help.
