Wireless Charging

I had purchased the LuguLake Qi and last night I fell asleep with my phone on this charger for the first time. I woke up two hours later and checked my phone. It was burning hot (to the touch) at 113 degrees and it stopped charging because of the temperature. It had only charged seven percent in those two hours. I did not return my phone to the charging plate. I plugged back into my regular charger, turned off the screen and went back to sleep.

When I woke up this morning the phone was fully charged and the battery was back down to a cool 72 degrees. I am not sure if all wireless chargers would have this effect on my phone, but I am not even going to try because for my personal taste, even 95 degrees is too hot for charging when I can charge at 72 degrees. My Rezound was always on fire and my batteries were worse than horrible. I may be comparing apples and oranges (bringing the Rezound into this conversation) but I would like to get two good years out of this battery and overheating it will not help me get there.

I guess I will not be charging my phone wirelessly, but I am Ok with that since I am only on the charger when I sleep.

when my phone is wire charging it still has reached temps in the 90's. with my dt-900 i have not exceeded 100 degrees yet. i also take the time to line it up properly as apposed to just popping it on the pad.

Does anyone have any input on simultaneous Wireless and Wired charging? Would that totally freak out the battery by having two sources of power at the same time?

I actually attempted this and it will not wirelessly charge if you have the phone plugged in.

I actually had to line it up so the charging light lit up.

I gave up on the Ghost 100 and got a Tylt. So far after one night I love it. No need to fiddle with it. Just place it and you're set..

I love how everyone is so cautious with their devices. It just shows, we really do care about our Droids and take pride in them! I am thinking about reverting to my steralite drawer set as a night stand and just duck taping one of these chargers underneath it. The plastic on it couldn't be any worse than an otterbox case. Now that would truly be as close to cordless and clutter free as you can get!!!

I just picked up the Droid Maxx (with the "glitch" that VZW just had on upgrades). I have this magnetic mount in my car for my phone, I put a thin metal plate between the phone and case to get the magnetic to hold the phone. Just wondering if anyone else using the wireless charger has similar set-up and if the metal plate interferes with the wireless charging.

Hopefully you were able to get the verizon30 30% off discount. Or the comcast visa.

The verizon30 didn't work, I'm existing customer so maybe something to do with it. Either way, got an upgrade and kept my unlimited for 2 more years, something that I thought was long lost :)

I love my Tylt. I keep it next to my bed and can just set it over on it. I've never noticed the phone being hot in the slightest.

Had anyone figured out how to either turn off or change the wireless charging connection noise. I thought it was novel at first, but now I'm just kind of annoyed by it.

You can setup a Tasker macro that basically says on wireless charge, mute for 5 sec and then unmute.

Got the Tylt. Easy to use and no heat issues. I love it!

The Tylt has gotten more expensive lately. Most places now have it for $99.99. Wow!

REI still has it for $69.99 with free shipping so, if you are interested in this unit, I'd suggest you get it now, before REI raises the price as well.

Or just buy it from the manufacturer. That's what I did and shipping was free.
