Wireless Tether and Wi-Fi tether

So I just downloaded the recent wireless tether update and in the notes it says that they no longer will be releasing updates to wireless tether but they will be doing wi-fi tethering. Now I don't know the difference. Could someone enlighten me.

Maybe you can tether other devices to your phone but only if its already on wifi? LOL that cant be it totally pointless.

I was wondering the same myself.

Maybe the device you are tethering to it will read it as a full wireless hotspot instead of just an ad-hoc connection, but I never really understood the difference between the two anyway. As long as I can tether my laptop to it when I need it & am not around my home WiFi...I don't care what kind of connection they call it.
