With rumored S-Pen support on the S21U, is this the last Note model??

I'm not trying to pick a fight , you have your right to voice your opinion, I just don't like it if it's true , I've seen Samsung since s3 , Note 2 , and had pretty much most of both their series phones and seen them develop through the years,
Trust me if Samsung didn't have both of them we wouldn't be talking about Samsung as a phone company today., they almost lost it to lg at one point. Yes now their hottest sellers should be midrange phones as most other companies out there.
But to me you don't touch your devices that made you who you are, I don't have issues with fold phones , I love all tech and like to see it develop but you don't erase either S series or Note would be bad mistake.

That's cool. Personally I wish they'd keep the Note. There is something sexy with that design with the squared edges, slim profile and just something about being able to pull that pen out of it's silo. Wish they would have added it as a fourth in the S-Series after the S21Ultra. But doesn't sound like they will. They let the iconic S-Pen live on with the S line... while they go into foldables.

We'll see. Just rumors from guys like iceuniverse right?

Hopefully just rumors :)

ruthfully I don't recall what you said about the zoom but I don't recall you promoting a 50X Zoom either. Maybe you did but I can't keep track of everything or everyone. I do seem to recall unless I'm mistaken you running with the rumour though that there would be no Note 20 Ultra.

Yeah, because I believe I was going with the idea they were naming it the Plus and not Ultra. Wasn't a fan of the name but it's grown on me.

Like I said, I wish they'd/they'll keep the Note, silo and all. I knew I didn't need the pen and still got the N20U over waiting for something else cause I loved the Note 8 and the rest of the specs. But just not that many hardcore fans of the Note I think.

You're not gonna get an S21 with a special sidekick case... but with you and others pattern of buying phones... I'll be surprised you don't get the S21 anyways :p

Well I never said I wouldn't get the S21. I would only get it if it offers something that seems worthwhile and with a minimal upgrade cost from the S20 Ultra. If not I may look at the fold 3 if they improve it or wait for a scrolling device.

I don't know if a Fold would ever be in my future. But I was definitely wowed with the Fold 2 over the original. Definitely step in right direction with the design and front screen. Just too thick and needs to be IP rated so I know it's more durable. Look forward to see what they do Fold 3.

Just did a quick check to make sure I wasn't making stuff up. Well, I was close lol. I guess I was pushing more for 30x with 10x optical Zoom. But yeah, after being disappointed in the S20U and deciding to take a pass, I was pretty much waiting for the N20 Plus for rest of year lol.

We can go back and forth blah blah blah, but the bottom line is Samsung has been doing a money grab lately on their phones. bare minimal upgrades with outlandish prices.. I've been very disappointed with these meager so called upgrades each and every year. I personally think that they will phase out the Note and push the Fold phones. Its all a money grab as I love my Note 9, but refuse to upgrade to anything else because frankly I'm not impressed with what they have been putting out lately.

On a side note I do love what they did with the Tab s7 plus that to me was worth a purchase!

I don't think they kill the Note yet. The Fold is still just a gimmick and they wouldn't give up that Fall launch window to the iPhone and Pixel.
Samsung has a lot of phones and with the underlying tech very similar for the S series and Note it likely doesn't cost a lot more to produce the Note.
The fold 2 is not a gimmick. Do you have one to be able to say that? That's like S owners saying the note is a gimmick. IMO, the folding phones are the future and samsung is gearing up to have the fold take the note spot for release dates.

I understand the diminishing difference between the S line and the Notes of late. If they want to consolidate, I just wish they would make an S, an S+ and an S Pen Edition - with silo. Wider screen because of silo, and make it a hair thicker to compensate battery. Because I would like that, it is unlikely to happen.

Everyone seems to think it's happening, more than ever before now that the S21 is going to have S Pen support. I don't know what I'd do - I really don't like the rounded corners of the S series and I won't be getting a case to house a pen - especially with the way I change cases. The Folding phones are just too expensive for what you get and I really do not like having a non-glass screen - so I can't see adopting those phones for the foreseeable future. I actually used to get both the Note and S, but I decided to stop with the S8 and stay with only the Note. I really don't know what I would do but I'd have to consider all options at that point.

Do you have the Fold 2?

I absolutely do. I have the note 20 ultra also but I love the fold 2. I can assure you the fold 2 is not a gimmick, it's a solid phone, in fact it has better reception then the note 10+, S20 ultra, and the note 20 ultra.
I would love better reception. My Samsung phone always gets worse reception than my 1+ phones. I would be down with a fold with a silo. Not sure about that gap where the screen folds though. Would like a phone/tablet in one device.

I didn't say it was a gimmick. I was asking because you seemed quite sure that folding phones were the future. It's a strange thing because before this, folding phones were a thing of the past and I guess since now a folding phone offered a bigger screen in a smaller package, folding phones have become a hot thing again.

I personally feel it's way too early to tell. This is only the second year but it seems that they they improved the device a lot. I can't get myself used to a plastic screen yet and perhaps they can make it feel more like glass (the inside that is) then I might be more open to it - but that price is hard to swallow. I might be more of a Galaxy Flip guy but then I read that the next Fold may come with an under display camera which might pique my interest. But man, I need to get over the plastic screen..... and the price.

I personally don't like the word 'gimmick'. I think it's typically a word often used when folks find something that they don't need but need to justify it to others. Practically every new feature of the Note is called a gimmick. It's a real tiresome word to me but I understand why people use it.
