With the end of the Note, are you done upgrading? Are you done with Samsung?

For me the real question is will the Spen be embedded or a stand alone add on. It's not looking promising for the fold 3 for the Spen being embedded.
That would be a shame , but I wouldn't get the fold for spen alone , it known for its unique feature in itself that would make me get .

Well I'm looking at it for reasons to upgrade from the fold 2. Embedded Spen, and hidden camera hole are a couple things I'm watching for on the fold 3. And it would be a shame if Samsung Continues on with the Spen as a add on accessory.

Agree this add on spen just doesn't cut it .

If they kill the Note after 2022 I'll just go back to the S series. They are both pretty much the same phone now.

You are right in that there are not many differences between them - the only one I can think of now is the S Pen.

An no more Samsung cloud storage?
OneDrive I need really liked just manageable.
Samsung I'm about done.

I'm not in a hurry. By June next year we'll know whether there will be a Galaxy Note Ultra coming out. If not, I'll reluctantly buy the S22 Ultra (or wait for the S23 Ultra. }. I NEED the S Pen.

I'm still riding my Note 9 like a rental pony, pushing it every day. So far, while I'm still recuperating, an upgrade hasn't yet been an option. I'd love a Note 10 or 20, but that's simply out of reach for now. The 9 is still getting it done, it's never been reset so far, but I am having to start thinking about a new battery installation, that's definitely on a downhill run. But I use a lot of the Samsung features, so I'm not looking heavily at a change at this point. I definitely want a newer, 5G capable Note. I still have more open capacity on this than a Note 8 had total. This is my longest-lived phone by far, as it approaches its 3rd birthday in August.

I never had a Note 10 - went straight from trading in my Note 9 for my Note 20 Ultra. But other than the the Note 20's Camera, I could still see myself with my Note 9, so don't feel bad, really!

Wow, almost a three year old phone! That's awesome! I get what you are saying about Samsung's features. They're too good to pass up! And I LOVE your "rental pony" simile.

Same here, went from the 9 to the 20 Ultra, on release day. I am still not impressed. I seriously wish I'd stayed with my 9. My favorite phone ever. The most important to me SPen function (screen off memo notification) is broken on the newer phones, and Samsung apparently has no interest in fixing it. You can kind of get around with it with Tasker, but it's not the same. That really took the blush off the rose for me. Unless you live in a large city with "real" 5G, it's just not a big deal yet. But if you're getting a new phone, you'd sure want to check that box.

Not sure what I'll do next. Probably just keep the 20 for a few years. Integrated pen is a requirement, though.

When you say "screen off memo notification", do you mean screen off memo. Screen off memo works great on my N20U unlocked Snapdragon.

No, I mean the notification. On older notes, when you'd write a screen off memo, you had an option to get a notification in the bar at the top of the screen. Under Samsung Notes app, in Notifications, there is still an option for it on my N20U. But no matter what you choose, it does not work. Many of us reported the issue to Samsung support, but I see the thread is archived and not available there anymore.

I don't know what you mean. In my Samsung Notes settings I don't see any notifications option. I also don't know why I would need a notification to tell me that I wrote a screen off memo. Sorry, but I'm just not understanding what you are looking for.

Oh, I don't feel neglected with the 9, still love it as much today as when I first got it, really. It's an excellent device to work with, and I'm currently writing a mass of short stories and just started a novel, tonight, that I've been mentally gearing up to for the last year while I've been recuperating. I'm framing parts of it now, since I've been learning how to use Word on my phone, and punched out half a dozen pages in my first sitting. I have been told I'm a very good writer on many of my stories, and hope to be able to live comfortably by writing books that can thrill people. The Note 9, combined with the SwiftKey keyboard just make writing a pleasure.

Go to Settings, Apps, Samsung Notes, Notifications.

Just because you might not find the notification useful does not mean it might not be invaluable to others. But the bigger point is that it has been broken for at least as long as the Note 20 has been around, Samsung knows about it and seems unable to fix it.

Sorry, I didn't mean to say you don't find it useful. I still don't see the option...

I guess what I meant to ask was how the notification is useful. I've never used it, and I've learned many cool tips here in these forums. Maybe this is another great tip, I just don't understand yet what you were getting from it.

I found it useful because it reminded me to check Notes whenever I unlocked the phone. Most of the notes I write are to remind myself about things. Add stuff to the grocery list, appts, whatever. So when I get home, it's nice to have that notification on to check my notes. A reminder w/o the notification is of much less value to me.

I use Tasker to somewhat mimic this broken function, but it's not the same.

I can see how that might be useful. Never used it, but it does not seem to work today. An there was a big Nores update today.
