With the end of the Note, are you done upgrading? Are you done with Samsung?

I have been a Note user since the 2, I won't get another phone since I have the Note 20 ultra if there isn't a replacement this year. If no more notes, I will ride this till it dies and or try and get it fixed. I use it for business and it just works for me.

Top specs + some OG specs... dual sim/SD card slot, Headphone jack. Nice flat screen. And even an LED notification light!!
Looks like a solid phone, except for the screen rotation lag and (the big one) no built in stylus.

Hi all, haven't been here in awhile, but am an addicted Samsung Note user. I am currently using the Note 8...... was really mad when they took away the removable battery..... then I heard the SD card was in and out..... based on the phones being full retail at over $1,000 when I bought 2 Note 8's for my husband and I..... I wasn't to eager to upgrade if the phone was performing well.... I mean for this kind of money they should last for many years! So of course now the battery is the only thing that is really starting to suffer on our Note 8 that will be 4 yrs old in Dec 2021. So Infuriating, that you can't just pop out the battery and replace it!!!

I agree that Samsung has made bad decisions in removing features (Removable Battery, SD Card) that set them apart in years past!!! I hate Apple, yet most of my family have them and try to push me that direction...

My son was the one who led me to Samsung (S3). I switched from that to the N4, and never looked back. Even had the doomed N7(RIP).
Just put in my order for the N20U5G. Hopefully will get it in 2 wks.

The note 9 is too outdated IMO. No longer officially supported. Even the Note 10 series is nearing its end. I'd keep or get the the s20 ultra as it will be update for years to come.

Note 10 still has one major update and an year of security updates due. Still going strong.

Several major updates and likely 5 years of security updates for note 20 ultra

Well, evolution or not, I won’t pay to use cloud services if I already have 512GB microSD. And smartphone without S Pen, for my work, is a no go. So, this time, no upgrade for me. But this can change if the new Fold 3 comes with S Pen support, microSD slot and better price… let’s see.

I so agree with you Vimagreg, I do not want to have to pay for cloud storage. I is just another way for companies to make more money, I just went with a NAS setup for home to use for photo storage due to Google cloud now charging for their photo storage option. Once they start charging you know the prices will always be going up over time. I want SD storage option. I may be holding onto My NS20 ultra 512gb storage with SD option for a long time I guess lol.

Well, I just ordered a new-to-me Note 20, the Ultra is out of my wheelhouse at the moment, and with the one I ordered already unlocked, I get flexibility down the road. I'm really looking forward to its arrival, I just ordered it earlier today.

Congrats !

If they do release a Note 22, with uncertainty if there would be a Note 23 I'll probably do the same.

Hmmm, interesting - you think if a Note comes out next year it'll be called Note 22 - and just skip 21 to keep it in line with the S series? Never really thought what it would be called.

It looks like I won't be upgrading my phone this year for the first time in many years when it used to be the 2 year contract days, all thanks to Samsung's decision to use the inventory of silicon for the S21 FE rather than a Note.. (C'mon we all know the Note is not upgraded this year not because of the chip shortage, but that Samsung decided to funnel it to the FE, and try to force Note users to foldables.)

When they first said the Z Fold 3 might be cheaper this year, I thought about it, but I still hated the ideal of opening a phone up to get a bigger screen. But now that it seems like it may actually be more expensive this year knocks me out, and every indication is that it will be more expensive especially them letting you trade in TWO devices. Also, the cameras seem to be underwhelming.

The ad campaign they are doing is also off-putting to me. They are trying to make it seem like you might not be able to handle the attention you will get with the new phones and I'm like the total opposite - I do NOT want people to notice the phone I'm using nor do I want my phone to be the center of attention.

Anyway, it's a few days away - unless something blows my socks off, I guess I'll wait until next year. Maybe they'll have the new scrollable phone that I think I will be all over next year if no Note. But if the leaks have been what we've seen and the price tag is back to the $2k level, it's a no from me.
