won't shut off

I just got this Note 10.1 and when I press the power button to shut it down (sleep) it starts up showing a splash screen playing music showing the Note. I really want it to sleep. Pleaseeeee someone help!

Hold the button for a second. You then get a pop up asking if you want to power off

I want it to sleep, not be totally shut down.

There's a galaxy note 10.1 screen saver app on the tablet that causes this. Go into that app and make sure nothing is checked

It should be on the second page of app icons. On mine it's next to the You Tube app icon. BTW, the placement seems odd because all of the pre-installed apps are arranged alphabetically except "Galaxy Note 10.1 Screensaver".

Praise the lord! This has been driving me nuts, and i only bought my note 3 days ago! Why in heck would ANYONE want a screensaver that plays music....it interferes when you want to listen to pandora and millions of other things!

You'll need to root to actually remove the bloatware.

I never experienced this because the screen saver is the 1st application removed. Seemed pointless.

Thanks so much! It was right where you said next to the youtube icon. Unchecked the options and it worked like a charm.
