Yes, but is it a stripped down version? I read you have to buy modules separately, such as a dictionary. If you don't buy it, all the words are underlined in documents like they're misspelled. Wonder how much the extras cost, and if they are included when you play the full price.
No, it's not a stripped down version. It looks and works nicely on the Nexus 7, or at least as well as a tablet office suite can. They all have limitations in terms of features and usability. I suspect you'll need to wait for a Windows 8 tablet to get an office suite closer to the real thing. Still, Office Pro and the like do a decent job with the basics.
Yes, they try to make money and stay in business by selling you additional, optional add-ins. One is a dictionary/thesaurus (they have a couple different versions, like Collins and Websters). You really don't need this, and not having it does not affect the spell checking capabilities. All the words are not underlined. I think this was a quickly resolved update bug on JB devices.
Another option is a font pack that includes many additional Microsoft fonts. I think it's less than $5 and again isn't that necessary, unless you're going to be a big time user of this office suite or have some special need for it.
Even when the app was at full price, these were additional cost options.
Some reviewers complained about being nagged to buy these within the app. However, I've not noticed anything overly obtrusive in this regard. I just opened the app and got a pop up window asking if I wanted to buy the dictionary, and I easily dismissed it, being careful to first check the "Do not ask again" box. If it pops up occasionally in the future, it's just not a big deal. This is how they make a profit, give people jobs, and stay in business. I haven't had any pop ups while creating, editing or reviewing documents.
So, overall I'd say it's worth 25 cents, mainly because 25 cents is basically free. However, I certainly wouldn't have paid full price, or even half price, for this or any other office suite. This is mainly because I don't have enough use for them, not because they're bad products. The always free Kingsoft Office is also nice, but Office Pro might be a little better. Try both and decide for yourself.
