Workaround for Bluetooth Headphones with FM Radio?

In case anyone out there is still looking for another way to do this, Spirit FM Unlocked for $10 says it supports A2DP bluetooth headsets. I haven't tried it yet (it's a bit much to drop but he explains that it's niche and hard to maintain/was hard to develop) but the reviews are positive

:)

There's a free version linked on my XDA thread, and I cancel any order at any time on request...

But sadly I'm not able to support FM over Bluetooth on any Motorola devices. They may be physically capable, but I don't have the time resources to reverse engineer Moto's.

And note that the JB update kills FM access on the Bionic, unless you are rooted and running Spirit. Moto/Google and North American carriers seem intent on putting nails into the coffin of free over the air FM radio.

Yay, I have a Galaxy s4 with no fm tuner, just fiddled with wife's new Sony xperia z1 and got fm tuner coming thru bluetooth headphones right now but still with a cable plugged in for antenna. I have been trying to solve this problem for ages tried it on many phones nothing has worked. Finally, looks like I will be changing phones now lol. Cheers, David, New Zealand.

Downloaded myTuner Radio app from google playstore and it has a share function which I used to connect to my bluedio earphones. Need to remove pairing with my Sony Ultra first and then discover the bluetooth set using the radio app. Enjoying my radio over bluetooth now.

For those narrow minded people, here are some fun facts... The wire from the headset acts as an antenna. You can cut the HEADSET cord four inches from the jack male end. This will be the antenna. Now you can listen to the radio / news / PBS, whatever FM station you chose over the speaker.
Freedom without dictatorship, allows you to choose. However we need to know how to use BLUETOOTH with the FM radio.

The headset wire only acts as an antenna. You can clip the headsets off, and listen via speaker. However we want to know how to make the Bluetooth work. Yes you can use the FM without a headset.

Tim,
I climbed the mountain and will help you resolving that problem.
1. Find an old pair of headphones, which 3.5 mm jack and cable are not damaged. Your relatives and friends can help you here.
2. Cut the cable in order to keep about 9 inches from the tip of jack. It has to be a clean cut: don't use dulled scissors or pliers.
3. Ensure that your Bluetooth headset is indeed wirelessly connected to your cell phone.
4. Connect the jack of the small cable that you have made into the cell phone. This will serve as your antenna.
5. Go to YouTube. Since Bluetooth is connected, a small icon does appear on the red band of the applications. This tells YouTube to switch audio to your wireless headset.
6. Now... The moment of truth: open your broadcast FM radio application and go to a station of your choosing. Ensure that the volume is not on silent or mute.
7. It worked for me. I have broadcast FM radio, with a home made antenna, which outputs to my wireless headphones. It should work for you.

Hi there.....I did exactly what you ve wrote, but still no solution. In fact, I cannot open my fm radio app, while my Bluetooth connection is on (I have an lg l9ii and an lg Bluetooth headset). About the same thing happened with a Samsung j5. In this case, my fm radio app opens, but no sound from Bluetooth headsets. I ve tried via phone speakers but no luck. I downloaded mono Bluetooth application, again, no sound. In general, I can hear music, via my bt headset, music from you tube etch, radio from internet, but the only thing I cannot hear, is fm radio via my in built fm radio phone application, crucial for me, while I am running.

Use moto z2 play and it can listen to FM radio via Bluetooth with no data needed.

I tried, but not working with next radio, works on headphones, but not on bluetooth headset. With monobluetoothrouter not working too. Tried everything and from other forums, but no results. Did you find a solution? Using my LG V10
