world clock - black and white times

Question about the world clock. When you add a city to the world clock, the times on the left sometimes have a black background and sometimes have a white background. Does anyone know what that signifies?

I don't think so. There are cities listed that are in the PM and some are white and some are black.

I think he is right. It actually shows if it will be dark or not. It is the same for the alarms. They will change to black if you set them for a time that it is dark out.

I thought he meant wether or not it is PM or AM. You mean it's telling me when the sun is actually out or not?

I changed one of my alarms from 7:30 AM (It was white) to 4:30 AM and it turned to black. It has to be if the sun is out or not.
