Would LTE be just as big a battery drain as WiMax is?

So on my Epic Touch WiMax is practically useless for me whenever I am away from power source since I can see my battery meter drop whenever I turn it on. Would things be different with LTE once Sprint launches it? Can I expect to leave it on whole day and still get full day's use out of Sprint's S3?

Not as much as Wimax. If you look at all the reviews that just came out (I listed quite a few of them in Samsung Galaxy S3 forum) you will note reviewers mentioning that their AT&T version of LTE got around 12 hours worth of life on LTE.

Also, on the Sprint version, you can disable LTE and just go on CDMA just like you could with Wimax.
