yeah, as long as it wasn't any wider. i really have my hopes up for a better battery. not that my n4 is bad but with the Google/Moto hookup I'm sure they can take a page out of the RazMaxx. go up to 64 (SD slot will NEVER happen), 400+ ppi and i'm good to go. i can care less about the gimmicks on some of the other phones. that's really all i need.

I'll buy the next Nexus once regardless. If it's CDMA I'll buy three. The Nexus devices, at least the last 3, have always been a step above the competition for the fall season and maintain their rule until Q2 the following year, at least. If it works on the network you want it on, no reason not to snag one or several. To me the difference between 4.65, 4.7 and 5 is less than 1/2 of an inch... that's less than a fingertip difference. Who cares?

Sorry I didn't realize my English teacher uses this forum. Please notice I said supposedly, not definitely. If you need further information ask someone to teach you how to use Google. By the way, it's a conversational piece not a research paper but next time i will quote references in proper MLA format for you.

The funny part is that I tutor students in MLA and APA papers for a living at my college. Not trying to judge or anything; it's just funny to hear you say that after a typical day at college.

Supposedly the n5 will be a 5 inch screen. Would you buy this or do you think 5inches is just too big for a phone

I like the idea of a bigger screened device, but I have to ask another question in this regard. I used to use a Palm T5, which was a great PDA in its day, but people used to tell me that it was too big and I always thought it would be handy to have an even bigger screen. I don't recall the exact screen size of the T5 but it is not as big as the Nexus series.
Why is it that people now seem to be more interested in bigger screens? Keep in mind that I am in favor of bigger screens; just wondering why the tide seems to be shifting with everyone else...

Video, web surfing and pseudo-productivity quickly evolving to actual productivity.

Yup. I'm in for a bigger screen. I think there is a lot of space on the Nexus 4 that is wasted.

Nope, I wouldn't buy a 5 inch phone. I wouldn't even take one for free.

4.7 inches is really about the cutoff for me in terms of upper screen size. Anything above that is just too big for a phone. Conversely, anything less than 7 inches is too small for a tablet for me. And, that assumes I would buy a tablet. I really just don't have a need for one at this point in my life.

I'm with you on this. Smartphones have been out long enough for us to see many manufacturers make many different screen sizes and to me 4.7 inches is the cutoff as well. it's the perfect size without getting uncomfortably large. I realize there's probably a niche out there for the 5 inch and up smartphones like the Galaxy Note. But for me that's just too darn big. I also agree 7 inches is the minimum for a tablet. 6 inches is too small for a tablet and too big for a phone, so the number 6 should just be ignored LOL. I have a 10.1 inch tablet and I love it. I'll continue to buy smartphones that stick within the 4.5 to 4.7 inch range. It's perfect.

Even if the next Nexus follow's Sammy's lead and produces a bigger screen in a smaller device? Less than 1/3 of an inch isn't too much to get excited about to me, especially if it's in the same or a smaller overall package.

I have big hands too. I've come to terms with the fact that there probably won't be a marquee phone with a physical keyboard so extra screen real estate for the onscreen keyboard is of great interest to me.

I would own a 5 inch phone.

I'm happy with the 4.7 inch Nexus 4, I would gladly use a 5 inch.

Man, and here I thought 4.3 inches on my Droid X two years ago was big lol

I would buy any Nexus, and plan to. But 5" is my limit. The XperiaZL managed to pack a 5" screen on a nicely compact frame so it can be done without turning the phone into a huge slab.

I'm not a big fan of the soft keys, and the reality is they use up quite a bit of screen real estate... So yes I would go for a 5 inch nexus. I really think there is a better way to incorporate on screen buttons than by constantly having a sizeable black bar taking up the screen 90% of the time.. At least give us a way to remove it at our leisure without having to root our device, and easily bring it back on screen when we want. A gesture perhaps? It kills me when I'm browsing the web and I have that huge black bar at the bottom of the screen......

Launches can do that. Check out apex or nova.

I have Nova. How do you do this?

My mistake, these buttons are part of system and not the launcher; I just happened to have Nova launcher on a ROM that had this enabled. Hide, auto-hide and enable are toggles that come with some custom ROMS. Lots of time smootching with Google, XDA, RW, etc. but I *think* the CM9 ICS ROM had this.

Another reason why I should have rooted straight away...

God yes! Please bring it to Sprint this time!

Dear Sprint, if you will sell it, I will buy it. No matter the size.

PS Google, keep the curved glass please and the rounded corners. I don't want a flat square slab of tech. Thanks.

What?! ...I'm msndrstood.

I would even be fine with it being a little thicker if it meant a bigger battery.

I'm right with you there. I currently carry an HTC Thuunderbolt with an extended battery and a Seidio case, and the thing is a brick and weighs quite a lot.

But my battery is all-day strong, even stands up to multi-hour Ingress sessions. I'd rather carry a heavy phone than a lightweight hunk of plastic and metal that serves no purpose until I find the next charging station.
