Would you buy the HTC 10 again?

I'm on the fence. I had the original Droid Turbo, and miss three things: the "always on" feature for notifications, the lack of ability to read out incoming texts while I am driving, and quick launch of the camera (which I am still getting used to using). There are alternatives, but nothing I like so far.

The battery is not impressive. Maybe because I came from the Turbo, but the 10's battery doesn't cut it for me. It's good enough since I am always near a charger, but nowhere near the "all day" comments others post about.

I will say, this thing looks and feels great...and it absolutely flies, which I love. To each their own.

One last question. If the phone is sitting and the display is dark, is there a notification light that flashes and does the phone produce a tone if there is a text message that comes across? Are there notifications if the phone is dark and idle?

Thanks guys for your help!!

yes

Nope. It isn't a bad phone but the s7 edge is better for my needs.

This is exactly how I feel about the S7 Edge. Used it, didnt dislike it like every prior Galaxy phone, but HTC 10 does what I personally need better. For once I can say I actually like Samsungs offering, be it not for me still.

Yeah I would buy it again. I've enjoyed using it a lot.

It's just an overall really great phone with no serious drawbacks to me.

Would definitely buy again, maybe buy the carbon grey if Verizon offered it but the silver has grown on me.

brought to you by the power of 10

I upgraded from the M8 as well, I loved my One M8 and I feel like the htc 10 is the true successor to the One M8. So, I would absolutely buy this device again!

htc 10

It’s not the best phone of the year, but it’s not far off. Yet, it’s the phone I would want to use. That might sound strange, but hear me out. From the lovely screen to the speedy performance to the fantastic representation of Android, the HTC 10 ticks all the boxes.

That’s the point – it might not be the best in every area, but it’s strong in pretty much all of them. While the Galaxy S7 might sacrifice audio quality and the LG G5 does the same with build quality, the HTC 10 doesn’t really sacrifice in any area. It doesn’t really do anything different, granted, but when all the parts fit together this well, I don’t think it needs to. So i will go with that

Probably not. Not because there is anything wrong with the phone, but because the next stuff is on the horizon.

I would not. I still want something more along the lines of what the Nexus 6p is but in a smaller body. Not only would it be more compact, but in a smaller frame it also wouldn't have bend issues.

My experiences with HTC support were also excellent. Prior to purchasing the 10, which BTW I absolutely would again, I started having issues with my M7 not being able to send emails through the htc mail app. They quickly isolated the issue and gave me a work around until the issue was resolved. Previously to that incident, I had some issue that I don't remember the specifics of about a year and a half ago and they again addressed it promptly and efficiently. Sorry J Dubbs had a bad experience, but at no time through many years and several HTC phones have I had an unsatisfactory experience with HTC service. For the record, my support contact with HTC has been through Chat service.

After enduring the software issues and quirks I had with my Galaxy S6 (not to mention the fingerprint loving glass back and mediocre battery life), the HTC 10 has been a dream. If I had to do it all over again, I would buy directly from HTC instead of Sprint.

I believe you're not able to buy a Sprint-compatible version directly from HTC though, right? Otherwise, I might've considered that myself.

The HTC 10 is by far my favorite phone yet. Sadly I had to switch devices because the antennas aren't string enough and because I work in a city that has very poor signal as it is I had a very poor signal. And yes I tried a new device. Besides that the HTC 10 for me was the best phone I have owned.

The 10 is super fast. Size is perfect for me. Screen and build was excellent. Software was near stock and awesome. It really is a great choice.

I have owned the unlocked HTC 10 since launch and like any phone it's not perfect. Yes, I would purchase it again as there is still nothing out there I would prefer over it. That may change when the next Nexus comes out...

I feel bad for anybody who ever needs HTC tech support......its absolutely HORRIBLE!!!! That's the only reason I'll never own another HTC product, I don't care how good the phone is. To me product support is as important as the product itself......it says a lot about the company.

All tech support is crap and I used to work in the field in another life. Tech support isn't that important to me since haven't had the need for it in almost 20 years. Google and the Internet can fix any issue one has for anything.

Absolutely would buy this phone again. Its not perfect - no phone is - but it hits all the right buttons for me
- Solid build quality. I prefer an all metal build to glass any day
- Outstanding audio, especially with high quality earbuds or phones
- Avoids useless overcustomization of UI
- Right size. I've had 5.7 inch phones, but find them just a little too big for comfort in pockets or in hand. I prefer 5.2 to 5.5 size.
- Good battery life. No, its not a 2 day battery, but it gets me through the day (16+ hours) without any worries.
- Excellent fingerprint sensor. As quick as any I've used.
- Decent camera. I'm not a big photographer, and I believe S7 is slightly better, but the difference is not big enough to bother me for my typical use.

Overall, this phone is a winner for me. Your mileage may vary.

Without a doubt. I bought the S7 because I wanted a smaller phone than the OPO, hated it. I hate Samsung's overlay, that you can't do ANYTHING root wise with the phone, etc. The only redeeming quality was the camera. In comes the HTC....blown away. So smooth, so fast, and in Battery Saver mode, lasts all day with no lag at all.
