Would you get rid of S7 edge for a pixel xl?

Re: Anyone siwtch to a pixel from S7 edge?

Do you think the pixel is better than the V20?
I never looked into the V20. I personally am not a fan of LG and their skin overlay. I would go for the pixel over the V20.

I am getting better battery life with the regular pixel as well than my s7 edge. So what @retinella said about the XL having the same battery life as the edge is completely incorrect. The XL does have the quad HD display so I think battery life to the regular pixel is comparable as Ive seen in the stats, XL may have a slight edge...very slight.

Not in my usage. My S7 edge gets a bit better battery life than my pixel xl and my iPhone 7+ beats them both. My S7 Active is the king of my 4 devices with 6 hours SOT. Again this is in my usage.

Interesting. Are you on the exynos or snapdragon processor? I average 3 hours SOT on my edge which to me is horrible. The standby time on the pixel is far superior. I find it very interesting that the s7 edge has better battery life than an iPhone 7+

The S7 Active is a bit of a different ball game, considering how much bigger the battery is compared to the other devices.

Yes it is just wanted to show some love to my S7 active and it's 4000 mAh battery! Some may need that much battery.

In the video preview, the Pixel photo looks underexposed. As if it metered on the bright sky instead of the person. The other phones appear to expose the person better at the expense of overexposing some of the background.

It's been said that aiming the phone just a smidge differently can wildly change the exposure. Taking a couple shots aimed slightly off each other will probably produce the results one wants

Re: Anyone siwtch to a pixel from S7 edge?

I actually downsized and went to the regular pixel from the s7 edge and so happy I did it. I'm getting better battery life of the pixel than I did on the s7 edge so I presume that would be the same for the XL giving it's quad HD display over the 1080p regular pixel.

I had the XL and returned it for the regular size, just because I didn't want a big phone anymore and realized that the battery life was still amazing on the pixel. The display is awesome, and it's even better on the XL. May not be as good as the s7 edge side by side but you can't tell a difference just looking at the XL, it's beautiful! The software experience is insane, the smoothness and speed is quite impressive. Now we can talk like iOS fanboys and say "it just works" because it really does. I don't manage my battery, ever even have to figure out what's "eating away" at my battery like I constantly did on my edge. I miss Samsung pay, but to me I don't miss it enough to switch back.

I say go for it and get the pixel XL! Google is now extending their return policy if you order it directly from them. So you get more than 14 days, I believe 30 if I am correct to see if you really like the phone.

How is the pixel camera compared to the s7e?

Personally, I think it's better. Everyone has their own opinion, but the auto focus is the fastest I've seen and I feel like the quality of the image with the auto HDR makes it better

I feel the same way. While everyone has different likes and needs for me the pixel is the hands down winner in what I'm looking for. Camera is the best I have used. Absolutely zero lag. The build a fantastic. Love it.

The phone continuously impresses me every day. I don't even feel like I'm using an android phone. Well I do BC of all the amazing customization

I have the S7E and the Pixel XL. While I've always loved the focus on the S7E, the colors have always seemed to be a little off. The Pixel is the closest I have ever seen when it comes to showing colors that are true to life. I have compared pictures with my S7E, iPhone 6S, and my Pixel. Pixel wins hands down every time. That's been my experience.

I currently have the s7 edge and was wondering if it is worth getting rid of it for the Pixel xl? besides newer OS, is there any advantage over the edge?

Well, after 2 full months, I can safely say that the pixel was the biggest gimmick I've seen in a long time. Sure its got the 821 soc. But other than being a teeny, tiny bit faster, giving up the s7 edge would be a horrible mistake. One I almost made. By the way, being an audiophile, I purchased the Axon 7 from ZTE for its audio prowess. Even that phone has it all over pixel.

I had the s7 edge since launch and disagree with you that the pixel is the biggest gimmick. It's far from a gimmick...Talking about gimmicks reminds me of the s7. That phone has the most gimmicks I've ever seen. Samsung is known for throwing all those gimmicks on their phone and in the end it creates issues and lag.

I've had the pixel since September and find it to be the best device I've ever owned. we can all think what we want and have our own opinions that people may agree or disagree with, but it shouldn't steer anyone away from trying the phone. It's an incredible device!!!

Well said. The pixel for me had been amazing. I still can't believe how good this phone has been for me.

An incredible device for being a tad faster? Googles AI on pixel is no different than on any other Android device. Very little environmental protection, no memory expansion, ugly bezels, mediocre screen. It is a good phone for about 350.00-400.00. But you could do as well with the oneplus 3T. Lets be honest. As I said, the only thing missing from the s7 line is hifi dacs and dolby atmos. Thats why I'm using my axon 7. With this device, I don't have to carry around my A. K. Jr. High resolution music player. The axon7 even has that beat. When Google announced the pixel, I was truly expecting the cream of the crop, the one single device that you'd need to carry. But look at all the issues it's had. And yes, I've got that God awful noise at very high volumes in my speaker. Are they going to give me a refund? NO. Why? Because its so wide spread. Hey I , like you, and countless others were suckered in just like Apple suckers in iphone junkies. I, most likely, would not have been this upset if I didnt throw down so much money for the pixel. Fact is fact, we were overcharged. And all these professional reviews? How much is Google paying them? Probably a portion of the overcharge. One thing I learned. I'll really shop around from now on. Especially when you can get the likes of the ZTE axon 7, oneplus 3T, honor 8 at true honest prices that are a much better value than pixel, and offer more bang for your buck. I would like to close by saying that when im listening to my music on my axon7 and other pixel owners ask me why im not using my nice new pixel, I let them listen to my Axon7. Then they realize how they got taken in. They're amazed and disappointed they didn't look further.

First off, I have had zero issues with the pixel and I wasn't suckered into anything so I am not sure what you are talking about. I chose to purchase this device and like I said it's not just incredible because it's a tad faster. To me it's incredible BC I have no issues with it and it works without any fail. I don't need memory expansion, which I've had issues with on the s7. To me this is far from a mediocre screen, I find it to be stunning. Like I said you can have your opinions and I'm going to be the one who disagrees with them. Everyone has different uses for different devices. I don't even use Google assistance, I never used Google now or any voice detection so to me it's just there. I don't want a oneplus BC the screen size is too large for me.

Not everyone is an audiophile...... it would seem that the pixel's subpar audio performance, screen, would have been evident almost right away. Why didn't you return it within the return window?

I can understand that the phone isn't for you, but if you feel you got taken because you can't return the phone.... that's on you I think.
