Would you give up 4G on your EVO to save $10/month?

I have a 4g tower less than 1/2 a mile from my house. I tether with 4g and the internet is quicker than using the comcast cable connection. With 4 laptops, 3 desktops, and other wifi using devices my home internet goes pretty slow. So no I would not give up 4g.

oops, i voted wrong.

i want my 4G. i use it all the time. anybody that isn't taking advantage of it, should go buy a 3G phone.

I would rather spend another $20 a month than go back to a Blackberry, so I'm fine with the $10, even though I live 100 miles from the closest 4G area.

Sprint said Austin TX is completely covered in 4g...I can hardly pick it up anywhere...I leave it off....

I could say it would be easy, because 4G is not official in LA. Well, it's supposed to come out on Dec. 1st.

I have used 4G and it is fast. But is it worth $120 for me? No. It sucks battery life and most of what I do is fine on 3G. If it improved battery life, I would change my mind, but that "drain" is just that...a real drain.

Lastly, I think 4G, when it is rolled out, will be spotty. So, the data will be switching from 4G to 3G while on the move. This is a real battery drain, and it causes too many interruptions while streaming radio, podcasts, etc.

i could do with out the 4G to save 10 bucks, they should make it a add on fee like the mobile hotspot charge. that way you can add and remove when you really need it. TMO's fake 4G is at the end of its lifespan, they cant go any farther than they are at. HSPA+ is just a 3G network on steroids, definitely not a long term solution. I wish Sprint would have just started on developing LTE to begin with and came out with the Evo on 3G. Just look at it this way, even though you are being charged 10 bucks, its an investment into WiMax since Clearwire is looking to us for more funding. And, by the time and other 4G solutions are developed, youll be ready for an upgrade anyways...

I would give it up because I never have it on. Mostly because of the battery drain and spotty 4G coverage in my area. 3G data access is fine for me right now and I'm on wifi in many places. So yes I'd give it up. When I came back to sprint from AT&T, my bill is cheaper by 45 bucks (4 lines) with more features. I'd love for that bill to be 65 bucks cheaper.

i think i've used it, um, 3 times since i got my phone...

it's not worth it for the Lag experienced during & after using it,
and it's not wide spread enough in my area to necessitate even leaving it on.
once it's nationwide--then charge me the $10, sure.

for now, 3G speeds still blow my old SamsungMoment out of the water.

I definitely would since I can't connect to 4G any way. While my city is on the list as having 4G, where I live I can never connect so I am basically paying sprint $10 a month for he privilege of having an Evo.

I live in an area where i'm surrounded by 4G coverage. I almost never use it though since 3G speeds are pretty fast at loading webpages and when I do use 4G, the battery life gets shot to hell.

If the next Evo has a way to maintain battery life while using 4G, then that's a different story.

same here. id do it in a heartbeat. i live in so cal and there isnt 4g anywhere close to me. this $10 fee is ridiculous. There charging me for a service that they dont have to offer me. robbery!!!! has anyone ever complained to them for this reason and actually got a $10 credit each month? this has got to be against the law some how

Yeah, what he said.

I live in Vegas an use 4G constantly. I would gladly pay the ten dollars a month and would pay double if it was consistently fast.

I find it hilarious that people are so upset with this fee. It's pretty simple, you don't like it then don't get a 4G phone. It wasn't like they released th phone and surprised us with the fee.

I have it, use it and love it. Have no issue with paying the $10/month.
